Dear Braintree Families,

If you can believe it, the 2022-2023 school year is upon us! I hope you have had a wonderful summer. The Braintree team has been hard at work preparing for a spectacular year. I am delighted that you and your children are members of our learning community, and I look forward to working together to ensure that all students are academically and socially successful.

I am honored to follow Ms. Lawler as the Principal of Braintree Elementary. My family and I have felt very welcomed into the community, and it is my privilege to be working alongside amazing educators, students, and families in such a beautiful place. I am eager to meet you at our Open House on Tuesday, August 30. Families with children in kindergarten through grade 3 may arrive at 5:30 to visit classrooms, and those with children in grades 4, 5, and 6 will meet at 6pm in the gym. We can’t wait to see you!

You will see some new faces at Braintree! We are pleased to welcome Emma Janicki, 5th/6th grade math and science teacher, Ray Merrill, special educator and paraprofessional, and Jeff Green, STEM instructor, to our staff.

School begins at 7:45am each day. Students may arrive beginning at 7:20. We finish the day at 2:05pm.

Be on the lookout for a packet from the school. Within this packet, you will find many important documents. We appreciate you completing them fully and reading through our Handbook. While breakfast and lunch are free for all students this year, we ask that all families complete the Free and Reduced Lunch Application. While you may or may not qualify, the information is used for distribution of other funding and resources to the school and district. If you do not receive a packet, please call the main office at (802) 276 - 3153.

Please also make sure your contact information is up-to-date. This is important for emergencies, and also communications from the school and your children’s teachers.

Thank you for your attention to the beginning of year documents. Feel free to reach out with any questions you may have. Please enjoy the summer days, and we will see you soon!

With warm regards,

Patti Sprague
