Congratulations to our Retiring Lisbon Staff Members! Congratulations to our Retiring Lisbon Staff Members!

As we finish our incredible school year, we want to pause and congratulate two of our staff members as they celebrate the end of their careers with HCPSS in retirement! Please join us in recognizing and saying farewell to Mrs. Stephanie Hastings, and Mrs. Corn, two beloved Lisbon Elementary staff members.

In addition, we want to recognize another amazing staff member, Mrs. Lauren Martin, who is moving on to begin a new chapter in her teaching career.

Mrs. Stephanie Hastings, our awesome and amazing Library Media Specialist, will be retiring this year. Mrs. Hastings has been a teacher for 30 years! Mrs. Hastings has dedicated the past 27 years here at Lisbon Elementary, and we are extremely grateful. She hopes to work at a museum in Washington DC or at one of our Howard County Libraries. She looks forward to going camping, reading, writing short stories and attending as many Washington Capitals games as she can. She will miss our students very much and hopes they continue their love of reading!

Mrs. Jennifer Corn, our incredibly talented and caring Special Education Paraeducator will be retiring this year. Mrs. Corn has been a Special Education Paraeducator for 25 years! Mrs. Corn has dedicated all 25 years to the Lisbon Elementary and we are extremely thankful for all she has done for our students and to support our community. In retirement, Mrs. Corn plans to spend time with her family, travel and will continue to support Lisbon Elementary as a substitute.

Mrs. Lauren Martin, our extraordinary 1st Grade teacher will be starting a new chapter in her teaching career. After 16 years of service for HCPSS, Lauren Martin will be leaving Lisbon this year. She has accepted a position to teach at Mount Airy Christian Academy, where her own children attend. She is thankful for the support, kindness, and encouragement of the Lisbon staff and community and wishes them well in their future endeavors.

We wish Mrs. Hastings, Mrs. Corn, and Mrs. Martin all the happiness as they begin the next chapter of their lives. We want to truly thank Mrs. Hastings, Mrs. Corn, and Mrs. Martin for all they have done for our Lisbon students, staff, and community. We will miss them greatly!

The goal of the Pocket Pantry program is to contribute to family and community wellness by reducing food waste, increasing food access, building community, promoting dignity and choice, and encouraging community sustainability.

In addition to our monthly Park- It -Market, sponsored by Glenelg United Methodist Church, Lisbon families and community members may now access a Lisbon Pocket Pantry at any time at the following location:

(sponsored by Glenelg United Methodist Church)

The refrigerator and accompanying pantry shelves are stocked with items such as fresh produce, dairy, meats and canned goods. Anyone can take what they need at any time. Community members are encouraged to donate food, non-perishable items as well as prepared meals.

Student Meals & Payments Student Meals & Payments

For the 2025-2026 school year, HCPSS will be using LINQ Connect for all things food and nutrition. LINQ Connect is a secure, online portal that allows families to make online payments to their child’s meal account, monitor their child’s account, schedule automatic recurring payments, set up low balance alerts, submit a Free and Reduced Meals program application, and more.

Free and Reduced Meals-check your eligibility today! Free and Reduced Meals-check your eligibility today!

Students whose families do not qualify for free or reduced lunch will be required to pay the daily meal price. Many HCPSS families are eligible to participate in the Free and Reduced Price Meals (FARMs) program, which provides children with a wide range of benefits including free or discounted college tuition, testing and application fees, academic and athletic program fees, and many others in addition to free or discounted meals. Families are urged to check their eligibility and complete a FARMs application as soon as possible. Families must submit a new application every school year. Details on the Free and Reduced Meals program, including a link to apply, are available online.
