Beyond the Bookshelf

2025 has been a year filled to the brim with goodness and there’s still more to come before we ring in the new year, including festive fun for all ages throughout December.

Charlie, age 5, is stepping into the spotlight as our December Kid Librarian and she was excited to take on the role because it looked like a really fun experience. Charlie, her sister, and her mom are regular visitors at the library, often joining us for favorite programs like Jr. Chef and Full STEAM Ahead. She loves reading fiction, especially the Sammy Bird series by her favorite author, V. Moua. Her favorite character? Sammy, of course!

When she’s not reading, Charlie enjoys coloring, doing makeup, exploring nature, and caring for her pet axolotls, Dewey and Frankie (proof that her library love runs deep, even in pet names!). Her favorite thing about the library is Mrs. Frankie, who also happens to be the librarian who inspires her most. When asked why, Charlie shared, “Mrs. Frankie, because she loves me and I love her!”

We’re thrilled to celebrate Charlie this month and can’t wait to see her shine as our December Kid Librarian!
