Weekly Newsletter - March 20, 2022
Updates & Announcements:
From Principal Perez-
A music highlight from this week, includes Mr. Duff working with students to help them explore the musical scale. Alignment between music and our curriculum them of Earth and Sky was used to teach vocabulary words relating to weather and the seasons. Students learned the song, Mr. Sun.
Students that are eligible to attend Kindergarten in the Fall received a yellow envelope with a book about Kindergarten and some resources for families. This Kindergarten packet is made possible by the Weymouth CFCE grant. We hope that families with upcoming kindergartners will attend the March 30th Parent Meeting to learn about K expectations and some of upcoming transition events.
I am excited to announce that we will be able to offer a 6-week FREE summer camp to current JECC students with a limited number of available slots for students. Due to the limited availability of slots, we will hold a lottery. Applications went home last week via student backpack and parent email. Please complete the application and send it to school in your child's backpack, if interested. Applications will be accepted until March 23, 2022. The lottery will be held on March 24th, and the first 30 students chosen will be eligible for this fun summer program. This is a grant funded opportunity. This is not the ESY program.
Have a great weekend!
Maura Perez
Principal
