Principal's Message
Dear Students and Families,
Happy Sunday!
ALL WEEK: College and Career Kickoff Week
This week we'll be having our College & Career Kickoff Week here at RVHS! Students will be doing some career exploration and we'll also be hearing from some guest speakers! The Youth Employment Opportunity Program from Riverside will be on campus presenting information focused on career readiness, employment preparation, interview tips, and strategies for success in the workplace. This will be a great opportunity for students to learn practical skills they can use immediately!
TUESDAY: Coffee with the Principals
We will be hosting "Coffee with the Principals" this coming Tuesday, October 20th. It is open to any adults/guardians/parents from SNMS, SNHS, and RVHS. We're offering two times on Tuesday for you to meet with us...one in the morning and one in the evening (depending on what best suits your availability).
Coffee with the Principals

Mr. Cole (our Assistant Principal) and I will have a couple of things we want to talk about, and then we'll open it up for conversation! It should be fun!

Help Make Our Fall Festival a Success!
We are excited to host our annual School Fall Festival, a completely FREE event for all of our students and their families and friends! This special evening is made possible through the generosity and support of our wonderful school community. We are asking parents, families, and local community members to consider donating items or gift cards that we can use for our raffle prizes. If you work for a company or local business that offers gift cards, products, services, experiences, or other items that could be donated as a raffle prize, we would love for you to reach out to your employer and see if they would be willing to contribute. In addition to our raffles, students and families will enjoy pizza, carnival games, a video gaming truck, music, and lots of fun activities for everyone to enjoy. Every donation, big or small, helps us create a memorable night for our students and ensures that this event remains free for all. Thank you for helping us bring our school community together and make this year’s Fall Festival a huge success!

FOOD DELIVERY
Students may NOT order food to be delivered to school through Grub Hub, Door Dash, Uber Eats or any food delivery. If a parent brings food in, it can only be for their student and it must be left with the front office and the student may pick it up during lunch time only.
Please do not drop off students in the bus loop!
Required Safe-Riders Program for Bikes, e-Bikes and e-Scooters and Skateboards
Just so you know, all students riding either an eBike or eScooter or skateboard to school must go through a safety training and registration process. This process also includes ALL BICYCLES...regardless of whether they're powered by a BATTERY or NOT!
There will be a short 40-minute online course to take, and then your eBike or eScooter or skateboard will be registered with TVUSD by use of a “registration sticker” provided at the school.
The overarching goal here is to help students develop safe riding/biking skills so they can get to school as safely as possible!
Please click the link below to begin your training course IF YOU WILL BE RIDING an eBike or eScooter or skateboard to school this year!

We'll be highlighting different community service opportunities. Students can also see additional service opportunities that are listed at the counseling clerk's desk! Check them out and get those 40 hours done!
I've noticed that for some readers unless this newsletter is opened as a webpage some of the links don't work! Here's a link to the "Community Service" log!
Mission Hope: Food Assistance
We understand that unexpected challenges, such as job loss or other financial hardships, can create food insecurities for families, especially during this time.
If your household is in need of food assistance, we encourage you to use the link immediately below to request support from our local food pantry, Mission Hope.
https://forms.gle/dwkV6LwSpSmCa8k58
Through this partnership, we can discreetly send a backpack filled with non-perishable food items home with your student.
Please know that all information submitted to Mission Hope remains confidential and will not be shared with the school or anyone outside of Mission Hope. We will only receive notification of which student needs a backpack. Our goal is to support our students and families in any way we can.
Mission Hope: Necesidades Alimentarias
