Message from Principal Gale
Spring is in the air!
With the changing weather, please make sure students are dressed appropriately for morning walking club and early recesses. Layers are a great option to stay comfortable throughout the day.
As we enter the 4th quarter, our calendar fills up with activities and important dates. We are so excited to see the progress our students have made this year!
A reminder that NSCAS state testing for 3rd through 5th grade will take place this month. Please watch for those dates and help set your students up for success by ensuring they get plenty of rest on testing days.
Let’s finish the school year strong!
Thoughts from Mrs. Simmons, School Counselor
Spring has SPRUNG!
Hello, Wildcat Families!
April showers bring May flowers and I am HERE for it!
I just love this time of year. Students are soaking up the vitamin D, coming with bike-riding stories, and dreaming of summer activities. So are the teachers!
At the beginning of this school year, Mrs. Gale had just returned from a Hawaiian vacation and was inspired to create a family (ohana) culture here at Washington. If you noticed them, this explains all our #WashingtonOhana hashtags throughout the year! I think this theme actually fits our school culture really well. This is my 5th year at Washington and the students, staff, and families truly feel like family to me. I love to see students hugging after they resolve their arguments, creating "Washington" songs at lunch, and watching them develop grit as they refuse to give up on those tough Math questions! It's an honor to call Washington home come alongside parents to be a part of the "village" raising these incredible students. Thank you for being a part of this Washington Ohana. Let's finish this year strong!
And PLEASE, check out Facebook so you can share your family thoughts and photos in the comments. It's SO fun to hear from you!
