Dear Titus Elementary Families,

What a fantastic first week at Titus! We kicked off the school year by welcoming our kindergarten students for our very first year of full-day kindergarten, and they absolutely rocked it! A huge shoutout to our Kindergarten team and all of our staff for making the first week so special and memorable for our youngest learners.

We were excited to welcome students in grades 1-5 this past Tuesday. It has been wonderful hearing about summer vacations, special memories, and the excitement students are bringing as they begin a new year in their new classrooms. Our teachers and staff have done an amazing job creating warm, welcoming environments where every student feels valued and ready to learn.

We hope everyone enjoys the three-day Labor Day weekend with family and friends. Thank you for a wonderful start to the school year. We look forward to seeing everyone back on Tuesday, September 8th, as we begin our second week together and continue what is sure to be an incredible year at Titus!

Your Principal,
Erin Walter

START OF THE SCHOOL DAY ...

We are an "A" or early school, and our hours are 8:35 AM to 3:15 PM.

Please be aware that the school day begins at 8:35 AM in your child(ren)'s classroom(s). If you are a car rider in the morning, it is recommended that children are dropped off no later than 8:30 AM in order to get to their classrooms for the start of the school day at 8:35 AM. If a student arrives in their classroom beyond 8:35 AM, they are considered tardy. Parents will need to come into the building to sign their child in if they arrive after 8:35 AM.

The adults supervising the car-rider drop-off line will be on duty until 8:32 AM. Students dropped off after 8:32 AM will more than likely not be able to make it to their classrooms on time for the start of the school day at 8:35 AM. Also, for safety reasons, students arriving to school prior to 8:15 AM, need to be supervised by their parent/caregiver. We ask that all students wait with their family member in the drop off line until 8:15 AM.

WALKERS & BIKE RIDERS WALKERS & BIKE RIDERS

User uploaded image

Walkers coming from Oakfield, Chatfield and streets to our south will cross at the crosswalk by the police station and enter through the bus loop entrance. Walkers and bicyclists from north and west of the school will cross Barness at the end of the bicycle path at the crosswalk and will proceed on the school side of Lower Barness, entering the school through the cafeteria entrance. The sidewalk comes straight back to the cafeteria entrance so that students can remain removed from the bus loop entirely. Bicycle racks are available adjacent to that entrance.

All bicyclists must wear safety helmets. Please also encourage your child(ren) to stay on the sidewalk while walking and riding for safety reasons especially due to car and bus traffic.

At the end of the day, walkers and bicyclists will be dismissed first so that they can exit the building in advance of bus and vehicular traffic. To ensure that classroom teachers have a complete list, we ask that you advise your teacher now if your child is going to be a walker at any time during the year so that their name will be included on the list.

DROP OFF AND PICK UP PROCEDURES

Beginning on the first day of school, September 3rd, parents are asked to enter the Titus parking lot and stay to the right, proceeding to the back of the parking lot near the playground and following the yellow lines around to the Titus staff member who will help your child(ren) in and out of the car. This procedure will be used for both pick-up and drop-off. No students will enter through the main doors for drop-off or pick-up.

For AM drop off, all students should remain in their car in the car line until a staff member is present at 8:15AM to unload students from their vehicles. In the afternoon, the back gate will be opened at 3PM for afternoon car rider pick up. Please do not line up in our parking lot prior to 3pm as this creates a backup onto 611 and in our lot.

Each family will receive a "pick-up placard" on the first day of school that can be prominently displayed in their car window for the Titus staff members to see which student(s) are being picked up in the afternoon. Your child(ren)'s last name will be placed in the middle of the placard. It is suggested that you cover your placard with contact paper or a clear plastic sleeve so that it will last the school year.

Please bear with us on the first week of school as it may take a little bit longer to adjust to the drop-off and pick-up procedures. Many Titus staff members will be present at these times during the first week to help direct you through the loop. Please take a look at the picture below for a visual of the drop-off and pick-up loop.

I thank you in advance for your cooperation and support.

End-of-Day Dismissal Change Procedure:

If your student must go home a different way than usual, please follow these steps to ensure your student dismisses the correct way:

✅Email your student’s teacher and copy the entire office staff, stating your student’s name and the end-of-day dismissal change:

  • [teacher's email]@cbsd.org
  • mbates@cbsd.org
  • lwest@cbsd.org
  • ahighberger@cbsd.org

✅If a student is going home with another family, the parents of both families must email or call the office, providing consent.

✅Copying the entire office staff assures the dismissal change is included in end-of-day dismissal announcements and is a backup if the teacher or any office staff are absent.

✅Please submit changes as early as possible. Changes cannot be accepted after 2:50PM.

DON'T FORGET CLEARANCES....

Titus requires all potential volunteers to complete their paperwork for clearances prior to assuming any volunteer/chaperone role within the school. This will ensure we are in line with district and state expectations.

Who Needs Clearances: An individual who is responsible for the child's welfare or has direct contact with children. Pennsylvania law requires all persons having direct contact with school children to obtain background checks and clearances. In the best interest of the safety and security of our students, Central Bucks School District requires the submission of these clearances prior to volunteering during the school year. Each volunteer must create an individual Raptor account, and all required clearances must be submitted with your application. Approved volunteers must check in at the office with photo ID, such as a driver's license, when volunteering.

Additional information and steps on how to complete your clearances and to register to be a volunteer can be found on our district website.

The handbook includes sections on important topics such as equal opportunity protections; report cards; health, special education, and other services for students; regulations and student disciplinary procedures, including policies on smoking/vaping, drugs and alcohol, and threats; technology and cell phone usage; parental rights; Title IX procedures; and more. Thank you for your support in following district guidelines to maintain safe and caring schools.

2026-27 One-to-One Technology Fee and Digital Wellness Initiative

Families are encouraged to review important information about student devices, the district’s One-to-One (1:1) Device Program and new digital wellness resources.

Families of students entering grades four, seven, and 10, as well as students who are new to CBSD, must complete the 1:1 enrollment process before receiving a district device. This includes reviewing the 1:1 Handbook, completing the User Agreement and, when applicable, paying the $60 device usage fee through MyPaymentsPlus. Schools will share device distribution details directly with families.

This year, CBSD is also expanding its Digital Wellness Initiative, including increased access to Lightspeed tools that provide families with greater visibility into student web activity on district devices outside the school day as well as help the district better understand screen-time trends.

Visit the CBSD 1:1 Program webpage for device requirements, fees and additional information about the district’s student technology program.

Disciplinary Procedures and Responsibilities Disciplinary Procedures and Responsibilities

All families and students are encouraged to review Board Policy 218: Student Discipline and the policy's attachment, which outlines disciplinary procedures and responsibilities in CBSD.
