We will have our second lockdown drill between March 12 and 23. Lockdown drills are an essential part of our emergency preparedness, and help students and staff practice specific protocols that would occur in an emergency situation. This drill will not be announced to students or staff in advance to allow for an accurate observation of any response protocols that need improvement or additional training. Practice drills such as these are also an opportunity for our administrators and staff to collaborate with the Sherwood Police Department. You may notice increased police presence if you are on/near campus during a lockdown drill, as SPD officers do participate in these drills.

During a lockdown drill, staff and students are secured within their individual classrooms/offices, and there is no movement in the building. No one will be allowed to enter or exit the campus until the drill has been completed.

If you haven't done so already, please mark your calendars for our first ever "Around the World at Middleton" event!

• April 16th from 5:00-7:00 pm
• All Middleton families are invited to come!
• 16 Middleton families from 14 different countries will be hosting tables for students and families to visit
• All students (and siblings) will receive a "passport" to visit each cultural table
• Students will receive stamps in their passports
• One food truck will be available on the playground
• Games and crafts available
• We will end the night with 5 performances from Middleton staff and/or famlies
• Stop by any time from 5:00-7:00!

Girls on the Run is back this spring! While the name says "run," this is NOT a track program — it's a fun, uplifting after-school program that inspires girls to be active, set goals, and build confidence. Whether walking, skipping, dancing, or running — all movement is celebrated! Along the way, girls learn essential life skills like friendship, empathy, and teamwork — all while preparing for a celebratory 5K at the end of the season. Don't miss this amazing opportunity to empower your girl!

Program Details:

• Open to 3rd-5th grade girls
• Season runs March 17 – May 31
• Middleton Tu/Fr 2:30-4:00 pm practices
• Culminates in a 5K Celebration where girls move at their own pace

The Teaching and Learning Department invites you to participate in our Instructional Materials Community Review Night. Parents, caregivers, and community members are encouraged to stop by at their convenience during the event. Staff members will be present to answer your questions and discuss the proposed materials in detail.
