Liberty Orchestra's theme for the 2026-2027 school year is Childhood Books! This theme encompasses some childhood favorites, such as; The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Lorax, Pete the Cat, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, and many more. Over the summer, this year's officers decorated the room to match the theme from "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" freshman board to "The Day the Crayons Quit" senior board.

Liberty Orchestra kickstarted the new school year with the New Student Icecream Social! New students were able to meet the Liberty Orchestra community, as well as the officers, attend their first social, and participate in some fun team-building games and activities, and of course enjoy lots of icecream!

Bach to School Bash is Liberty Orchestra's most attended social of the year and is definitely a highlight! All orchestra students are invited to Frisco Commons Park to enjoy some outdoor games, lots of pizza and other goodies, socialize with friends, meet new people, participate in pod competition games, and of course, enjoy the snowball fight at the end!

This month, the publicists have been working extra hard to release so many wonderful and creative posts on our Liberty Orchestra Instagram. From designing and posting the pod leader posts to reels from the ice cream social, they're off to a strong start. Follow our Instagram @libertyorch to see their amazing work!

This past summer, one of our very own harpists Danatra Widjaja attended the One Harp World conference. This event is co-hosted by the two biggest harp societies, The American Harp Society and the World Harp Conference, and is meant to celebrate the artistic passions and cultural inclusivity of both organizations.

What was your experience like at One Harp World?

"My experience there was very memorable, interesting, and fun as I got to meet many of my harp idols as well as discuss my community project, see many different performers from around the world sharing their harp culture there, and just having a fun time with my other fellow Chapter Ambassadors from all across the country helping out in this conference". -Danatra

What was your favorite part of the event?

"My favorite part of the conference was meeting people because I really enjoyed getting to hear everyone's experiences and just having a fun time in general". -Danatra
