Hello QE Families!

Despite being a short four-day week, it was packed with hard work and heartfelt appreciation! Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade students showed lots of effort and perseverance during their ELA CDT assessments. We were very proud of how focused and dedicated they were. To wrap up the week, we celebrated National PTO Appreciation Day by honoring our phenomenal parent organization, PIE (Partners in Education). Behind the scenes, PIE works tirelessly to make our school an amazing place to learn, play, and grow by supporting our teachers, organizing fun events, and planning memorable activities for our students. Thank you to our PIE members and families for making this week a success!

Dr. B’s Top 3 Showing Pride at QE

Each week, Dr. Bubser was looking for QE Pride (Perseverance, Respect, Control, Dependability, and Effort). Check out the top three from last week!

Congratulations to Enrique in 3rd grade, who every day walks the kindergarteners to their classrooms when they finish breakfast. Sometimes he has a line of 12 younger students behind him! He is doing an amazing job. Thank you for being so dependable Enrique.

Shay in Mrs. Yerger’s class has been such a great friend. She is kind and encouraging to all her classmates. Thank you Shay for being respectful and dependable with all your interactions. Keep showing that QE PRIDE!

I mentioned earlier this week that we had a guest teacher subbing for art class. I stopped down to see who was showing QE PRIDE and found two first graders who stood out. They were staying in control, being respectful, and helping our sub. Thank you Millie and Aliyah in Mrs. Altner’s class for showing QE PRIDE.

Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)

This is a reminder to parents about our MTSS framework. QCSD continues to use this framework of academic, social-emotional, and behavioral supports to improve holistic student achievement. MTSS focuses on furthering strong district and school leadership, a positive school culture and climate, and family and community engagement. Here is the link to an MTSS Informational Letter to Parents and the MTSS Information on the website.

QE Request for Assistance (RFA) - This request for assistance form should be completed in the event that you have non-urgent concerns about an area of yours or your student's educational programming that needs the attention of the school team (if not currently addressed). Completion of this form does not result in immediate intervention; however, it will alert the school's MTSS team to review the student's data and connect with you regarding your concern.

Arrival Procedures

We continue to improve our procedures to maximize safety and efficiency. Starting Monday (9/28), during arrival, we will have all adults who drop off in the KDG/1st Grade line by the cafeteria exit to the right. Keeping the traffic flowing right and through the front loop will help relieve congestion on Main Street.

Thank you for your patience and for following our procedures.

Picture Day

Smile! Picture Day is coming. Students will have their school picture taken on Wednesday, September 30th. See the picture day flyer below with details.

Important Notice

I shared an important announcement with students this week after hearing of students sharing food in lunch and giving and receiving challenges/dares. I reminded them that our cafeteria is a place to eat, relax, and enjoy time with friends. To keep everyone safe, healthy, and happy during lunchtime, we need everyone to follow an important cafeteria rule: Never share food, challenge others to eat certain foods, or accept challenges or dares to eat food that’s not yours. Eating strange food, mixing foods together, or eating something too fast can be dangerous. Some people have food allergies or health needs and we don’t want anyone getting sick. Food challenges can also lead to messes and accidents.

We reviewed how lunchtime is for nourishing the body so they have energy to learn. I also connected this to showing QE PRIDE in the cafeteria, with others, and with their food, and how they should only eat the food brought from home or the food they choose to get from the cafeteria line.

We Want to Hear From You!

As part of our ongoing effort to support our QE students and families, we are asking parents/guardians to complete a brief survey. Your feedback helps us determine how we share information, identify areas of strength, and better understand ways we can continue to improve our support for students and families.

Please click the link below to complete the survey. It should only take a few minutes, and your input is greatly appreciated!

About Us

At QE, we challenge our students academically and behaviorally through our state-recognized Positive Behavior Support Program, P.R.I.D.E. QE students are taught to persevere, show respect, be in control, show dependability, and show effort in all school and life endeavors. We believe every child is a valued and treasured member of our school family. You can trust that we are fully committed to ensuring your child feels respected, safe, and supported in their growth. When families, educators, staff, and students work hand-in-hand, we create the strongest path for our children to thrive and achieve their highest potential.
