Dear Monomoy Middle School Families,
This week is all about showing gratitude for the dedication, care, and hard work our teachers pour into our students every day. If your family would like to participate, we invite students to bring small tokens of appreciation throughout the week. These can be handwritten notes, drawings, flowers from the yard, a favorite snack or drink, or even just a kind word. If you're looking for ideas, consider sending in a thank-you card, a classroom supply item (like tissues, markers, or wipes), or a small gift card to a local coffee shop. Every gesture, no matter how big or small, makes a difference and means so much. Thank you for helping us make this week extra special!
Please don't forget about our upcoming MCAS exams:
- Math MCAS (all grades) on May 20–21
- Science MCAS (Grade 5 only) on May 6–7
In partnership,
Abby Dudley
Principal

MRMS Grading Practices - Family Survey: We encourage all families to complete this quick survey to provide input on our grading practices as we look to norm grading practice across the building, increase transparency, and improve communication with families and caregivers.
Facilities Project Updates: Please visit the Monomoy School District's website for updates on the building committee including a video explaining the project.
7th Grade Course Selection: 7th graders will be meeting with the high school staff on Monday during Anchor Block to look at course selections. Please check out this STEM video for additional information on STEM programming.
Seminar Grades: Our seminar grades will continue to be Pass/Fail at the end of the grading period. You will still be able to view your student's percentage grade on their progress note.
Digital Mindfulness and Online Safety Workshop Replay: Monomoy recently had a visit from Richard Guerry of the Institute for Responsible Online and Cellphone Communication, thanks to our collaboration with Children's Cove -- he spoke to students in Grade 3-7, raising awareness about digital mindfulness and online safety, and he also held an evening session for parents and caregivers. If you'd like to access the important material Guerry shared, the information for the workshop replay is below. Note: It is highly recommended that the videos provided for Students & Parents are previewed before showing them to children under 11.
