Counselor's Corner
Technology High School
November 7, 2025
Helloooooo November...
"Instruction does much, but encouragement everything."
― Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
We need to encourage each other and ourselves even when we are succeeding. Encouragement, after we fail, is even more important because that is when we are at our lowest. Failing is part of life, learning, and growth! We need to fail to become successful, and in order to come out of feeling down about failing, we need encouragement!
Month of being thankful....this week I am thankful for the rain that has been brought to us, as well as the crisp, chill air and the colorful leaves falling.
I am completing my Junior Small Group Meets during Advisory this month.
College applications are a work in progress, so make sure you spend time on those to make sure that you can submit them on time. FAFSA is open and needs to be submitted for graduating students as soon as possible. There are Cash 4 College nights held virtually and in person all over the county if you need assistance.
The Spring 2026 application is now open for the Santa Rosa Junior College. If you plan on taking a JC class in the Spring, please fill out the application and dual enrollment form as soon as possible so you will be ready on December 2nd at 7am to register. The classes for Spring are out!!
I have also created a Google Classroom with resources and announcements...ask your students if they have joined yet.
My newsletters are to inform parents mostly, but there will also be information for students. Some information carries over each week, but always look for the new stuff.
I am very easy to get ahold of and respond pretty quickly. If you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, clarification, or concerns.
See below for friendly reminders: Important Dates, Mental Health Tips/Resources, SRJC information, Scholarship opportunities, and volunteer opportunities.
Sonoma County STEAM Showcase
Let me know if you are interested...I have submitted and intent to participate form already.
Please join us for the 2026 Sonoma County STEAM Showcase! The STEAM Showcase will be Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. The theme for this year is "Wellness!" This free event, open to all students TK-12th grade in the county, invites students to show projects incorporating two or more areas of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math). During the full day Showcase, students will present their projects and engage in hands-on STEAM activities and challenges. Students may enter the showcase as individuals or groups, which can be as large as a whole class. Student projects will be evaluated using the rubric linked HERE.

UC Davis Resources
The representative that came to our college/career fair wanted me to pass along these resources to all the students:
- Our Find My Advisor tool allows students to see all of my recruitment events and also provides a way for them to contact me directly. I generally avoid giving out my direct email address to students; this FMA inbox allows me to filter inquiries separately.
- This is our digital viewbook for the year.
- Contact Undergraduate Admissions
- First-Year Admission
Students can view our upcoming webinars below; they’ll need to register for the event in order to receive the Zoom link to attend.

Mental Health Tip!
Did you know?
Come talk to me about anything, I will talk you through things, listen, come up with strategies to deal with anxiety, etc, and/or send you to some more in depth support that we have on campus this year!
Focus on your strengths. With finals, end-of-semester projects, and catching up, please remember how wonderful you are. Take some time to think about what you’re good at and ways to do more of those things. By focusing on and building your strengths, you can keep your stressors in perspective.
