A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Hello Montessori Families!

The final count down is real. How did this school year go so fast?? We are enjoying summative presentations and activities these last few weeks! This past week, Upper Elementary students presented on a chosen county in Wisconsin and our 8th graders presented their Capstone Projects! Next week, Lower Elementary will do their presentations! It's amazing to see all the hardwork and growth come to fruition!

We have so many pictures of the County Expo! Click here to see them!

Have a great weekend!

Last Day Logistics Last Day Logistics

Our last day of school is Thursday, June 11th. It is an 11:45am dismissal for all students. There is no Right At School after care this day. We will not have carline on this day, as we will be sending off our 8th graders!

4K through 7th grade will create a tunnel for 8th graders to exit. The end of the tunnel will be at the basketball court. 8th grade parents should position themselves there for the best photo ops. After the 8th graders exit, parents may pick up their children with the teacher. Please make sure your child's teacher sees you before you leave with your child.

Attendance Attendance

Wauwatosa Montessori School had the highest percentage of students who achieved the district attendance goal this year!! We celebrated at our last assembly of the year! We also celebrated students who achieved perfect attendance: whether it be for one month, two months, or ALL YEAR! Shoutout to the following students for having perfect attendance all school year!

Carly A, Olive B, Ayden D, Tyler F, Carter M, and Winston O!!

We appreciate your partnership with attendance. We know there are unavoidable absences and illnesses. We appreciate all our families do to balance the importance of attendance with everything else that comes up!

On Thursday night, our 8th grade students presented their Capstone projects to family and friends. This tradition is the culminating project - celebrating 10 years at Wauwatosa Montessori School! 8th graders pick a passion project and dive deep! Some students create physical things, while others do research projects. This year we had the following presentations:

Olive - Building a Volleyball Net

Wolf - Croissants

Harrison - What Makes Music Sound Good?

Alana - Making a Graphic Novel

Reece - How Does Pollution Affect Marine Life?

Robin - Cookbooks Through the Ages

Sean - Buckthorn to Fishing Rod

Colette - Food Allergies 101

Ellie - Finding Your Rhythm

Chris - "Jordan"

Congrats to our 8th graders! You had phenomonal presentations and we will miss you next year! We know you will do great things!!

Girls on the Run

Congratulations to our Girls on the Run team on completing the Celebratory 5K this past Sunday! It was a wonderful day filled with smiles and determination. We are so proud of all of our runners for the confidence, perseverance, and teamwork they demonstrated throughout the season and on race day.

As we look ahead to next year, we are excited to announce that Girls on the Run will return in the fall for students in grades 3–5. Practices will be held on Tuesdays and Fridays from 3:30–4:45 p.m. Registration will open in August. Please note that if more than 15 girls register, a lottery system will be used to determine participation.

We will especially miss our current 5th graders! If there is interest in forming a Heart & Sole team for students in grades 6–8, Erin H. would be happy to connect with interested coaches and help explore the possibility.

Thank you to all of the coaches, volunteers, and families who helped make this season such a success!

Any questions can be sent to Erin at erinpeschel@gmail.com.

Thinking of moving out of Tosa?

Policy about tuition waivers and open enrollment has shifted over time. The current policy uses a formula regarding tuition waivers for the placement of students. If a family moves out of Wauwatosa, the school they attended may not be the school that has seats available. Please reach out to Nora, Elizabeth or Becky Harris in the Division of Family and Pupil Services if you have questions.

AFS-USA: Families With Young Children Make Great Host Families

Would you like to have an international experience without having to travel internationally? Would you like your children to experience another culture right in your own home? Then bring the world home and host an international exchange student through AFS-USA www.afsusa.org !

In partnership with Tosa East and Tosa West, local volunteers are looking for host families for the 2026-27 school year. You get to choose the student’s gender, country, age, and interest profile. An AFS student is not a guest; they are adventurers who are eager to immerse themselves in family life, school culture, and the community around them. They are ambitious, curious, passionate, and interested in sharing their culture with a family willing to take the leap and host them.

There’s no perfect time. There’s no perfect host family. Embrace the adventure and become a global family! For more information, contact local volunteer Diane Dray at 4drays@wi.rr.com.
