September is Suicide Prevention Month
This September, our school counseling team is dedicated to bringing awareness, hope, and helpful resources directly to our students for Suicide Prevention Month. Keep an eye out during lunch periods throughout the month—our counselors will be dropping by the to chat, hand out resource cards, and share important information about mental health support.
We will also be sharing announcements highlighting the life-saving impact of 988—the national Suicide & Crisis Lifeline that offers free, confidential support 24/7 via call or text.
Our goal is to make sure every student knows they are never alone and that help is always within reach. If you or someone you know needs support, please don't hesitate to reach out to a school counselor or contact 988 anytime.
If you need to talk, the 988 Lifeline is here.
988 offers 24/7 judgment-free support for mental health, substance use, and more. Text, call, or chat 988. Access for Deaf/HoH and Spanish speakers.

Know the Facts about Vaping
At Northside Alternative High School, we consider the safety and
well-being of our students as our highest priority. Vaping among
young people is a growing concern nationwide. We want to ensure that our school community is
well-informed about the dangers of vaping and the recent Texas law addressing this issue. Vaping
can have serious health consequences, affecting both short-term and long-term well-being. We
encourage open conversations between parents and children about the risks of vaping and the
importance of complying with the new law. Together, we can create a safer and healthier
environment for our students, ensuring their bright futures remain unclouded. For more information
visit NISD's Vape-Free website.
