Summit Hill Elementary
January - Fly on the Wall
Message from Principal Aronow
Happy New Year, Summit Hill Families!
I hope you are having a joyful and restful winter break filled with special moments and time together. We are so excited to welcome our students back on Tuesday, January 6th, and kick off a brand-new year of learning, growth, and possibility!
The start of a new year brings fresh energy, new goals, and endless potential for our students. Our teachers and staff will be ready to jump right back in, supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally every step of the way.
As we return, please take a moment to review the information from Nurse Holly included in this newsletter. You may also notice several new faces as we are welcoming new families to our campus. Please take a minute to welcome them to our school and community. We’re always working to improve our campus and create the best environment possible for our families.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We can’t wait to see smiling faces back in the building and hear the halls come alive again. Here’s to an exciting and successful start to 2026!
As always, if you have any questions, please reach out at 903-745-4100 or at Aronow.Rebecca@HoweISD.net. Thank you for partnering with us on this journey of growth!
Warm regards,
Rebecca Aronow

Note from Nurse Holly
We are getting low on sweatpants and leggings. If you are refreshing your closets for the new season, consider donating to your child's school if you have things your child has outgrown. We accept donations of gently used items such as, running shoes, socks, sweats, leggings and t-shirts. Girls & Boys underwear are acceptable if they are clean and in like new condition. Also every student, regardless of age, should carry a change of season appropriate clothing in their backpack. Even "big kids" have accidents, or damage to clothing.
With temperatures getting cooler, please dress your child for the day's expected weather. This may mean layers, like a light jacket and long pants with a t-shirt underneath. Most outdoor times are completed by 1pm for our campus, so they may go out in the morning's cooler temperatures. WRITE THEIR NAME IN THEIR JACKETS!
If your child is sent home in borrowed clothing, please return items as soon as possible. If you are unable to wash them, we can do that after returned.
Dress code concern.. Seeing LOTS of way too short shorts. Spaghetti straps. (even on cold days)
