Cross Country Clovis Trip and Season Update
The Hockinson High School cross country program has seen remarkable growth over the past four years — and this season’s trip to California’s premier cross country course at Woodward Park in Clovis showcased just how far the team has come. Competing at the same venue as the California State Championships, our varsity Hawks took to one of the most competitive courses in the West and proved they belong among the best.
Leading the way for Hockinson, Graysen Aldridge surged to the front of her race, leading for the first 1.75 miles before finishing with an impressive 10th-place performance against a deep field of elite runners. On the boys’ side, Tanner Hood demonstrated true grit and determination, climbing from 54th place to 27th overall to become our top male finisher on the day.
Opportunities like the Clovis Invitational offer invaluable experience and motivation. Each high-level meet sharpens our athletes’ competitive edge, helping make big moments feel less daunting. This year, our team has been fortunate to race alongside the top male and female performers in the nation — including standout competition at Clovis and The Mook — and will soon toe the line with the top-ranked girls’ team in the country at Stare (Sehome).
What sets Hockinson apart is more than results; it’s the relentless commitment these student-athletes show year-round. They train together in every season, pushing one another to raise the bar and strengthen the culture of excellence that defines Hockinson Cross Country.
The future is bright for this dedicated and determined group — and their journey is just getting started.
