A Word From Your Guidance Counselors
According to the legislation from the Indiana Department of Education, each public school shall provide age-appropriate instruction on child abuse and child sexual abuse to students in kindergarten through grade twelve. This instruction will be happening in the month of November at North Vernon Elementary School. The following resource will be the basis for instruction in our elementary school: https://fightchildabuse.org/
If you have any questions after reviewing the curriculum or would like your child not to participate, please contact your student's teacher via ParentSquare, Mrs. Driver or Mrs. Gambrel at 812-346-4903 or mdriver@jcsc.org or kgambrel@jcsc.org Thank you!

Routine speech and hearing screenings will be conducted throughout the school year. If you do not wish for your child to be screened, please send in a written note. (For the 2026-2027 school year, 5th and 6th grade students (county-wide) who receive speech and language therapy will be receiving their services with an online speech therapist while at school. If you have questions related to this process, please reach out to Todd Ebinger at tebinger@jcsc.org, or call 812-346-4483.)
