MARCH 2026 GUEST PANELISTS MARCH 2026 GUEST PANELISTS

Have you ever brought home a stunning new orchid only to realize you have no idea where to put it or how to keep it alive? Or perhaps you have a "problem child" on your windowsill that refuses to bloom despite your best efforts?

Join us for our next meeting as we ditch the formal lecture for a lively, community-led discussion:

"I Just Got a New Orchid… Now What?”

Featuring Guest Panelists: Jim Wert & Pat Bacchetti

Our very own Jim and Pat will be kicking things off by pulling back the curtain on their personal growing spaces. They’ll be sharing what they typically look for when purchasing a plant and what they do with it when it comes home with them.

After Jim and Pat share their approach, we’re opening the floor to you. If you've been struggling with a plant or have just bought one at a show recently and don't know where to start, feel free to ask your questions: No question is too basic! You're also free to share your success stories as well as how you managed to successfully grow a difficult plant.

Whether you’ve been growing for 20 minutes or 20 years, come ready to chat, laugh, and learn at our next meeting!

Due to not having a guest speaker this month, there will not be a scheduled speaker dinner.

President's Letter President's Letter

Dear Members,

I hope you all enjoyed the February Show, and thank you to everyone who participated. We truly have some outstanding growers in our club. The event was a wonderful success — we generated strong sales and even welcomed a few new members to our community.

At the moment, our amazing treasurer, Maggie, could use a helping hand while she cares for her mother. If you have experience with QuickBooks or accounting, or know someone who does, please reach out to the board as soon as possible. Your support during this time would mean a great deal.

Looking ahead to March, our next meeting will feature a panel of knowledgeable members sharing their expertise on growing and caring for orchids. They’ll be happy to answer your questions, so come ready to learn, share, and be inspired.

As always, it takes a village to keep our club thriving. Please consider volunteering for the board. Whether you’d like to actively contribute ideas or simply listen and learn at first, there’s a place for you. We meet just once a month via Zoom, making it easy to participate from home.

With spring arriving on March 20th, our world will soon be bursting into bloom. I look forward to seeing our Show and Tell table overflowing with your beautiful orchids in the months ahead.

Wishing you all the very best,

Mary Christopherson
