  • Funded through the USDA, the PA Department of Education, and a $46.5 million state budget increase signed by Gov. Shapiro.

Program Requirements:

  • Operates on an offer vs. serve basis – schools must offer all 4 breakfast components daily:

    1. Fruit/Vegetable

    2. Milk

    3. Protein

    4. Grain

  • To count as a free meal, students must take at least 3 components, and one must be a fruit or vegetable.

TECHNOLOGY TECHNOLOGY

Online Safety and Security

  • Effective August 27, 2025, YouTube will be blocked on all K–8 student devices.

  • Why: While YouTube can be a valuable learning tool, it can also be a distraction and may expose students to inappropriate content if unsupervised.

  • What stays the same:

    • Teachers will still have YouTube access for classroom instruction via projection.

    • Teachers may whitelist specific educational videos for students to view independently at school or home.

  • In these cases, only teacher-approved YouTube resources will be accessible.

Questions?
  • Contact Office of Technology.
