Shout Out! Shout Out!

All Hands on Deck

Thank you for being the warm, caring and supportive adults that our students need. All week we saw evidence of smiling students and our arrival and dismissal procedures have been so smooth. Thank you for taking such care to prepare your spaces and welcome our students back with warmth and joy! Thank you for providing extra hands during our key first days to help set the tone for the school year.

Student Dining

Thank you to our Kitchen Team for pivoting last minute and opening two lines for our Junior High lunch--our students are able to all get through the line much quicker than last school year and it's going great. Thank you for making this last minute adjustment to help our students!

Club Leaders Needed: Adventure Crew & Dungeons and Dragons

We are in need of Club Leaders who are interested in supporting our Adventure Crew Club and Dungeons and Dragons Club. Adventure Crew meets once a month on Saturday and is a paid opportunity for club leaders to facilitate outdoor activities for students. We also would love to continue the Grade 5-8 Dungeons and Dragons Club from last year. Please let Nina, Jason or Karen know if you are interested in facilitating either of these club opportunities.

UC Field Experience Students

How UC Students Can Benefit Your School

● Introduces students to urban public schooling and the opportunities it offers for students and for future employment.

● Exposes your students to University of Cincinnati students and a chance to learn more about UC and what it means to be a college student.

● Provides an extra set of hands in the classroom for teachers (Classroom Helpers)

● Provides 1-1 or small group literacy, math or homework help (Service Experience)

● Supports your resource coordinator or academic staff (Service Experience)

● Gives teachers and administrators an opportunity to share their expertise with UC students.

They are limiting time slots this year to help UC students better coordinate their ridesharing. We can choose ONE time slot: Tuesday or Friday, 8:20 - 10:30; Tuesday or Thursday 11:35-1:40. The slots don't work perfectly for us, but we can also ask the UC student to accompany a special, help with morning cafeteria time, help at recess, etc.

Please let Karen know by next Friday if you're interested in having UC students this year.
