The Buzz
Autumn Term - 6th November 2025
Message from the Executive Headteacher
Welcome back to the busiest and most exciting part of the Autumn term; the run up to Christmas! You will soon see communication with all of the details for our wonderful Carol service and the details of the Christmas activities which the children will be enjoying. Don't forget to sign your child up for their Christmas school dinner via the email which will come out today. This form needs to be completed by Monday of next week to ensure the caterers have enough time to order the food so please do not delay in completing this.
Tomorrow we are pleased to host the HPPA fireworks events at the school field. This is always a busy event with great fireworks. Thanks to many of the staff and parents who have volunteered to come along and support us and we look forward to seeing you there.
Next week, I look forward to seeing you at the parent consultations. Members of the HPP governors will be in attendance, gathering feedback so please do say hello.
I have also been enjoying the school tours we have been doing at both schools. Many year 2 parents have toured HJS and it's wonderful to hear the positive feedback they provide. Please sign up if you have yet to do so.
The Scholastic Book Fair is this week with the last day tomorrow, please come along and support reading at HJS.
Finally, reminder that voting for the role of Parent Governor closes tomorrow, Friday 7th November, at 5pm. Voting is via an email link from Choice voting, which was sent together with instructions on how to place your vote, at 12pm on Wednesday 22 October.
I look forward to seeing you soon and have a great weekend when it arrives.
Ms H Lockey

Break Time Snacks
Reminer that children are allowed fruit or vegetables, the fruit can be fresh or dried but not coated in chocolate or yoghurt. “Granola” type bars often contain large amounts of additional sugars and as such are not a good choice for a snack. Fresh fruit is available to buy every morning break from the medical room for 10 or 20p.
Christmas Lunch
A separate email has come out today advising you of the Christmas Lunch options available. Please complete the attached link to ensure your child is able to have a lunch on this day by Monday 10th November to enable the kitchen to order the correct amount of food.
Bude Deposit (Year 5 children)
Reminder that the deadline to receive the deposit of £100 is 28th November.

Attachment Aware Schools Award
You may have noticed an Attachment Aware Schools Award banner on the school gates, this is because this year Hampton Primary Partnership are participating in the Attachment Aware Schools Award - Silver Level. The project focuses on developing attachment aware and trauma informed practice across the partnership. As part of the project, we are looking at developing spaces within the school to further foster safe, supportive environments and support children's wellbeing.
On 3rd November it was Banners for Belonging Day, when schools across our community came together to proudly show their commitment to being Attachment Aware and Trauma Informed.

Christmas Fayre
We really need support on filling the volunteering gaps for our Xmas fayre. Every year group has a stall and without parent and carer volunteers we can't run all the fun stalls.
Tickets are on sale now. Please ensure you get your ticket early to avoid disappointment!
Amazon Wish List
Parents and carers, we need your help to improve our library!
Over the last few years families have very kindly contributed gifts to the school via the Amazon wish list. These gifts are always incredibly well received and have made such a difference to the school community. This term we are asking families to help improve the variety of non-fiction books we have in the school library - an area used and enjoyed by all children, all the time!
This is where the Amazon Wish List comes in! This Wish List is populated by teachers who have a clear understanding of what additional books we need and what would make the biggest difference to your child and their classes.
When completing your purchase, please remember to include a gift receipt so we can see who kindly donated.
If you are able to make a purchase, please follow the links below:

Congratulatins to Finn in year 5 for passing his grade 1 electric guitar with merit. Well done Finn - that's amazing!
Additional Music Tuition
Here are HJS, we are incredibly lucky to have a variety of private music tuition options available during the school day. Fees vary depending on the length of the lesson and whether it is a shared lesson or not. The nature of private tuition means that each child can progress at their own speed with opportunities to take exams, if they choose to do so.
