North Texas Now! Update

School has started, and soon our UNT Now! students will begin the fall semester with UNT. For those of you who are just starting your North Texas Now (NTN) journey, we welcome you. We are so glad you are back for those of you who are continuing with us!

You have received information from UNT and must attend during your regularly scheduled AM/PM Cohort time. You have also received links on how to get your books. Please make sure you have ordered them. https://unt.bncollege.com/shop/unt/home

UNT is hosting a Mandatory student orientation on Monday, August 15th. The orientation will be hosted at the UNT Frisco Campus: 12995 Preston Rd., Frisco, TX. Remember to bring your device (laptop/Chromebook)!

• AM Cohort: 9:00 - 11:50 AM
• PM Cohort: 1:00 - 3:50 PM

Students attending classes at Frisco this year are required to have a parking pass. As students who are only using the Frisco campus, your account is eligible to purchase a parking pass that covers the full year for $100. Instructions for purchasing the parking pass can be found on the following site, but are also included in this email: https://transportation.unt.edu/parking-permits.html.

Purchase permits through the UNT Parking Portal. The site will show you which permits you may buy. If you need assistance purchasing a different permit, please call 940-565-3020 or email transportation.services@unt.edu. The permit site allows you the option to print a temporary permit until your permanent one is mailed to you.

There will be multiple options listed, but the pass you need should only cost $100.

UNT Professors will email students -- to their UNT email address -- the week before classes begin. We realize that UNT classes start after the FISD start date. You only report to school for your regularly scheduled courses.

Students, check your UNT email regularly, reach out to your professor when you have questions, and plan your time wisely.

For only a very small portion of the AM cohort - Those who do not have a 4th period, you will be contacted on how to sign-out at the front with attendance each day. This is to place us in compliance with TEA guidelines. Thank you!

• October 9: FISD Only Holiday (YOU still have UNT classes)
• November 10: Withdraw Deadline
• November 20-24: Thanksgiving Break
• December 8: US History EOC for Juniors ONLY
• UNT Final Exams - Last Week
• December 22- January 8th: End of FISD Semester & FISD SCHOOLS CLOSED

Wednesday, October 4 - PSAT Test for 10th & 11th Graders

November 7 - December 20 - ASVAB Testing Window - dates vary by campus

Wednesday, December 6 - US History EOC for dual credit US History students (11th graders)

Wednesday, March 6 - School Day SAT for 11th graders

April 23-26 - STAAR EOC exams (Algebra 1, Biology, US History -- should only be make-up testers)

May 6-17 - AP Exams - AP Exam Website (dates updated soon)
