APRIL HIGHLIGHTS APRIL HIGHLIGHTS

Career Day Fair

West Orange Elementary proudly hosted its annual Career Day Fair this April, creating an engaging and inspiring experience for all students. The event featured a combination of classroom presentations and interactive career exploration tables, giving students a well-rounded look at a wide variety of professions.

We were thrilled to welcome an incredible group of guest speakers, including local community members, instructors and students from Orange High School’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, and many of our own dedicated parents. Each brought unique perspectives and real-world insights that helped bring different career paths to life.

Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to actively explore careers through hands-on activities, engaging presentations, and meaningful Q&A sessions. This interactive approach encouraged curiosity, sparked new interests, and helped students begin thinking about their future goals.

Career Day continues to be a highlight of the school year, fostering excitement about learning and helping students connect their education to the world beyond the classroom.

Open House

West Orange Elementary welcomed families and community members to campus in April for our annual Open House, a special evening dedicated to celebrating student learning. Classrooms were open for visits, giving families the chance to explore firsthand the incredible work students have been creating throughout the year. From academic projects to creative displays, every space reflected the hard work, growth, and pride of our students.

In addition to classroom visits, the event featured a variety of engaging highlights for all to enjoy. Community resource tables provided valuable information and connections for families, while a special appearance from the beloved Chick-fil-A cow added a fun and memorable touch for students. Our Expanded Learning Program students also took the spotlight, showcasing their talents through cheer and dance performances.

Families also had the opportunity to browse and shop at our Spring Book Fair, encouraging a love of reading and supporting literacy at home. Open House was a wonderful evening of connection, celebration, and community, and we are grateful to everyone who joined us to make it such a success.
