OLL
Some thoughts for the starting school year

π Note From Mrs. McKuen π
Dear Our Lady of the Lake Families,
We had a short week last week, but it was jam-packed with learning and fun! Mrs. Dullβs class explored the magic of fall leaf colors, while our preschoolers learned about pumpkins and discovered what was inside a real pumpkin. Our middle schoolers put their faith into action by traveling to St. Vincentβs to distribute food to those in needβall in just three short days!
Our teaching staff then spent two days in Grand Rapids learning about school culture, positive feedback, supporting diverse learners, and more. The conference also provided valuable time to strengthen relationships and grow as a team. Getting to know one another beyond the classroom helps us build a stronger school community.
Our teachers are returning with fresh ideas to add to their already full toolboxes, ready to engage and support OLL students in new and exciting ways. We look forward to bringing that renewed energy into the classrooms this week!
Yours in Christ

Our Lady of the Lake Calendar Fundraiser
If you do not wish to participate in the calendar fundraiser, please return your calendar and envelope. Write Not Participating on the envelope.
If a family turns in a full calendar, it will count as one Fundraiser Event toward your service hours.
Each family that turns in a full calendar name will have their name entered in a drawing. We will draw two names, and the winners will receive VIP seating at the Advent play.

πAdvent Play Coming Soonπ
Dear School Families,
Weβre excited to share that the cast and soloists for our 2026 Advent play, Called to Christmas, have been selected! Songs for students in Pre-K through 8th grade have been sent to their teachers for practice, so donβt be surprised if you hear some heavenly music filling your home!
Mark your calendars! Our performances will take place on Friday, December 18th, at 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
Many Hands Make Light Work!
There are plenty of ways for families to get involved in making this special event a success. From behind-the-scenes support to other helping hands, we have volunteer opportunities to suit a variety of interests and talents. Thereβs a place for everyone to contribute!
Attached, youβll find the Advent Back-of-House Job Lists and Volunteer Sign-Up Sheet. These behind-the-scenes volunteer roles can also count toward your familyβs one required non-fundraising event. Please note that some positions are already being filled by students serving as their familyβs non-fundraising event; families only need to complete one non-fundraising event.
Thank you for sharing your time and talents to help make Called to Christmas a beautiful and meaningful experience for our students and school community. We appreciate your support in bringing this special Advent proclamation to life!
God Bless
