For those joining us for the family and community performance tonight, here are the details:

We look forward to seeing our families tonight for an evening of wonderful music!

The grade level that donates the most money will earn an ice cream treat. If you are out of coins, we would take a cash donation as well. Student Council and Kids for Character will be taking a field trip to Feed My Starving Children this coming week to pack meals.
MAP Testing
Spring MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) Testing will continue this week. These assessments in Reading and Mathematics help us track student growth throughout the year and ensure we are meeting the unique instructional needs of every student.
To help your child feel prepared and confident, please keep the following tips in mind:
We are so proud of the progress our students have made this year, and this is a great opportunity for them to show off everything they have learned! Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
Kindergarten Visitation
Kindergarten Visitation for our incoming Jaguars and parents will take place on Friday, May 1st. Any child who is 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2026, can enroll in kindergarten. Click here to register your child for kindergarten.
Student Placement Form (Parent Input)
The Student Placement Information form has been developed for parents to use as needed. The principal will consider the completed information prior to student placement in May. Your input is appreciated and will be used along with a variety of other placement criteria. Complete this form only if you believe the information will assist with student placement. Any form that contains a specific teacher by name will not be used in the placement process. The office staff will review forms and remove any forms with specific teacher requests.
Please complete the form before May 1st.
Teacher Appreciation Week (1-Week Away)
The PTO is excited about what we have planned for Teacher & Staff Appreciation week the week of May 4! They have planned a "Building our Future" theme to commemorate the construction that will be starting soon. Below is the schedule of events for the week and themed days. Sheets for your students to fill out and show appreciation to staff will be coming home this week.
The PTO would like to keep the teacher's lounge full all week long with snacks and treats. If you would like to help stock the lounge, click here.

Registration for 2026-2027
Kindergarten Eligibility Children who will be five years of age on or before September 1, 2026, are eligible to enroll in Kindergarten for the upcoming school year.
New vs. Returning Student Portals To streamline the process, we have two distinct registration pathways:
New Student Portal: For families brand new to District 13.
Returning Student Portal: For any student currently enrolled in D13 during the 2025-2026 school year.
Important Note for Transitioning Students If your child currently attends a D13 school, they are considered a returning student. You should use the Returning Student Portal even if your child is moving from one building to another (for example, moving from DuJardin Elementary to Westfield Middle School OR moving from Preschool at Erickson to Kindergarten at Erickson or DuJardin).

Weekend/Week Night NEWS
Would you like to celebrate your child's achievements with the DuJardin community? We love to recognize our students' accomplishments both inside and outside of school. If your child won a trophy with their sports team or outside organization, or achieved a significant milestone, we'd be happy to announce it during our morning announcements or lunch period.

Message from Nurse Rosero
Required Health Forms for the upcoming school year:
- Kindergarten: Physical, Dental, & Vision
- 2nd Grade: Dental
- Health Office Website
Student Needs:
Please inform the nurse of any allergies or sensitivities to foods, medications, and environmental allergens. If there are any pertinent details of your students' health that you feel the nurse needs to know, please reach out and discuss this with the school nurse. This information can be helpful to better support your student throughout the day, if certain situations arise.
About Your Student’s Medication:
The district's medication administration policy mandates that all medication to be administered at school requires an MD order, this includes over-the-counter medications. Students may NOT keep over-the-counter meds in their backpacks or in their lockers--including cough drops, Advil, etc. This is an important safety concern! Please review the policy included in the registration process.
If your student requires an inhaler, Epi-Pen, or any oral medication, please obtain the medication form and appropriate health care plan from your physician when your child has their exam. Forms may also be obtained on the district website.
Excused Physical Education Class:
Please note that all PE excuses need to be sent to the Nurse's Office. A parent may excuse a student from PE for up to 3 days. (consecutively) Thereafter, a Doctor's note is required.
Calls home from the Nurse:
Phone calls home are warranted in the event of a head injury, minor or major
All in school sickness including fever of 100.4 (oral) or greater, vomiting and/or diarrhea
Please prepare to keep your child home until:
Fever-free for a full 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication.
Vomiting and diarrhea has ceased for a full 24 hours
Please refer to the General Health Guidelines which can be found on the district website
Send a note to school or email your students teacher and office if....
Your child/ren is walking home or being picked up instead of taking the bus
Your child/ren is being picked up by someone other than who is on the pick up list
Your child/ren is going to kids place instead of taking the bus or vice versa
Your child/ren is leaving school early

AR Reading Program
The Accelerated Reader (AR) program at DuJardin: Students in first-fifth grade can take AR tests on the books they read.
As students earn points, they can get rewards, including bookmarks, brag tags, and a chance to attend our special AR Night Out in January and the big End of Year Field Trip in May!
Mr. Pearlman will be going over the AR program during library with our First and Second grade students this coming week. Most books we have in the library are AR books and students can read the book and take a quiz to earn points. So, find a great book, get reading, and let's get those points!
Click here for more information about the AR program at DuJardin.
Please note: this is an optional reading incentive program.
