Welcome Back & Pacing Ourselves
Regulating Through Routine
Finding Our Rhythm
As we settle into the month of September, predictability is our best friend. Children thrive when they know what to expect, especially our amazing students who process the world a little differently. Creating simple, consistent routines at home—like a predictable bedtime or a visual checklist for the morning—can significantly lower anxiety and help kids feel safe.
Late Start Mondays are now Early Release Wednesdays
Please note that for this school year, WSD is replacing monthly Late Start Mondays with monthly All-District PK-12 Early Release Wednesdays (2 Hr).
- The first monthly All-District PK-12 Early Release (2-hour early dismissal) will be Wed., Sept. 16.
- Elementary Early Release Supervision: Paid supervision will be available for preschool and elementary students on early release days, similar to previous Late Start supervision. This is separate from our Chautauqua Program.

Clear Bag Guidelines for Sporting Events
In coordination with neighboring St. Charles County districts, WSD is implementing new bag guidelines to help enhance safety and security at ticketed high school athletic events.
Beginning in August 2026, guests will be asked to follow the District’s new clear-bag guidelines.
No Electric Scooters and Bikes
For the safety of all students, staff, and visitors, electric bikes, motorbikes, scooters, and similar non-licensed motorized vehicles may no longer be ridden on school property.
Students who arrive on campus using one of these vehicles should dismount when they reach school grounds and walk it to the designated parking area. Riding any non-licensed motorized vehicle on campus is not permitted.
This change is being implemented to help ensure a safe environment for everyone during arrival, dismissal, and throughout the school day. Please take a moment to review this expectation with your child. Thank you for your partnership and support. As a reminder, all students are expected to follow school policies while on school property.
Focus School Software Improvements
Logging into Focus is now easier for parents. If the email address associated with your Focus account is a Google or Apple account, you can simply use the corresponding “Sign in with” button to access your account.
Also, the "Wentzville Schools" Focus app has recently been refreshed to provide a cleaner, more streamlined user experience for both parents and students.
Make the Most of Your Stopfinder App Experience
Is your student a bus rider? Stopfinder is the WSD transportation app for bus-riding families. It provides families with convenient access to their student’s transportation information and is the district’s primary source for transportation notifications. Read about the Stopfinder app and how it can work for you by turning on notifications, which are not automatically set up, or sharing access to route information with caregivers.

Nutrition and Fitness: Building Healthy Habits Together 🍎👟
Hello, families! We are so excited the students are back and REACH is in full swing! At the clinic, we firmly believe that children need to be healthy to be educated, and educated to be healthy. That is why this month we are focusing on the power of nutrition and fitness.
The best way to encourage these habits is by making healthy eating and daily physical activity the norm for the whole family. To lead a healthy, active life, you and your student can strive to achieve these "5-2-1-0" daily goals:
5 fruits and vegetables every day.
2 hours or less of recreational screen time (or the healthy balance you have set).
1 hour of physical activity daily.
0 sugar-sweetened drinks—choose water or milk instead!
We encourage you to create a home environment that makes these choices easy, fun, and readily available. Be active together as a family, try new foods, and keep it playful! When wellness is fun, your student will naturally want to keep coming back for more.
Attention Visitors:
When entering the building for a meeting or event please be sure to bring your state-issued ID.
