We have a fun week ahead at BAS! Our Bobcats are settling into the school year, classrooms are busy, and there is plenty happening both during and after the school day.

This Friday is an especially big day with Donuts with Dudes followed by Field Day! 🍩🏃‍♀️ We’re looking forward to welcoming some of the important “dudes” in our students’ lives to campus and then spending the day together with games, activities, and a little friendly competition.

Our volleyball and soccer seasons are also rolling along, Hot Lunch continues this week, and there’s lots to keep up with—so be sure to take a few minutes to look through this week’s Bulletin! 💙💛🐾

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord…” Colossians 3:23

Whether it’s schoolwork, helping someone, playing on a team, or even competing at Field Day, we want our Bobcats to learn to give their best effort. We don’t have to be the fastest, the smartest, or the one who wins—we can simply do our best with a good attitude and remember who we are ultimately doing it for.

📌 Reminders

👕 School Dress Code: Now that we are several weeks into the school year, we will begin sending notifications home for dress code violations. Students who arrive in clothing that does not meet BAS dress code may be asked to have a parent bring a change of clothes. Please take a moment to review uniforms before heading out the door each morning. Thank you for helping us keep expectations consistent!
💎 Jewelry: Jewelry is not permitted at school. Students wearing jewelry will be asked to remove it, and the item will be placed in a bag and sent home with the student. Please help us by having students leave jewelry at home.
🍽️ Hot Lunch: Our Hot Lunch program is underway! Remember, Hot Lunch depends on parent volunteers. If we do not have enough volunteers scheduled for a particular day, Hot Lunch may need to be canceled and students will need to bring lunch from home. If you're able to help, we'd love to have you!
🍕 Friday Pizza & Snack Sale: Friday Pizza Lunch continues each week, along with our Friday Snack Sale. Snacks range from $0.50–$2.00 and students may bring cash or charge to their school account with parent permission.

Thank you for helping us keep things running smoothly at BAS!

💙 Parent Partnership: Raising Good Teammates

With Field Day this week and our fall sports seasons underway, it’s a great time to talk with our kids about what it means to be a good teammate—because those lessons go far beyond sports.

Kids are going to win sometimes, lose sometimes, be chosen first, be chosen last, make the big play, or be the one who makes the mistake. Learning how to handle all of those moments well is an important part of growing up.

A few things we can encourage at home:

Win graciously. It’s okay to be excited about winning without making someone else feel bad about losing.
Lose graciously, too. Disappointment is okay! Blaming teammates, arguing, or making excuses isn’t.
Celebrate someone else’s success. Teach kids to cheer for the classmate who runs faster, gets the answer right, or earns the recognition.
Focus on effort and growth. “I loved how hard you worked” can mean more than “Did you win?”
Remember that everyone contributes differently. Being a good teammate sometimes means encouraging someone else instead of being the one in the spotlight.

These are skills our students will need in classrooms, friendships, workplaces, families, and communities. We’re not just teaching kids how to win—we’re teaching them how to handle themselves well whether they win or lose. 💙💛🐾
