Weekly Encouragement Weekly Encouragement

As we enter the final weeks of the school year, the pace of life tends to pick up with events, deadlines, and celebrations. In the midst of the busyness, we want to stay grounded in what matters most—keeping our focus on Jesus and finishing the year with purpose and gratitude.

We have several important dates ahead. Our Community Service Day on May 4 provides a meaningful opportunity for students to live out their faith by serving others. On May 5, families can prepare for next year at our Spring Sizing Event, helping ensure a smooth start in the fall. Then on May 7, we invite you to join us for the National Day of Prayer Breakfast, a special time to come together as a community in prayer for our school, families, and nation.

Even as schedules fill, our prayer is that each of us would remain centered on Christ—recognizing His presence in both the big moments and the everyday routines. As a reminder, “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” — Colossians 3:2

Thank you for your continued partnership as we finish the year strong, together.

Executive Director & Head of School

Elementary Chapel Update

This week’s chapel was a joyful reminder that we have good news worth sharing. Our 2nd graders helped lead a message on “Go and Tell,” encouraging us to reflect on how naturally we share exciting news—and how important it is to share the love of Jesus.

Through Bear Has a Story to Tell and Scripture, students explored the Great Commission and were reminded they can live this out every day through their words and actions. We also reflected on being a light in the world, pointing others to Christ in everyday moments.

Thank you to Mr. Upcott for faithfully sharing this message and for the meaningful way he continues to pour into our students.

As we move through the week, my encouragement to our families is simple: lean into these conversations. Our students are learning that their faith is not meant to be hidden—it is meant to be lived and shared.

Family Connection Questions

  • What is something exciting you like to share with others?

  • What does it mean to “Go and Tell” others about Jesus?

  • How can you show God’s love to someone at school this week?

  • What does it look like to let your light shine at home?

  • Who is one person you can be kind to or encourage this week?

It is a gift to partner with you as we raise children who not only know the love of Jesus, but are confident to share it.

We welcome your input and know your desire is for your child to have the best experience possible. The form linked below will close Monday, May 4 at 4:00 pm.

Secondary Chapel Update

Yesterday in Secondary Chapel, we heard from three of our middle school teachers, Mrs. Beach, Mrs. Zimmerman, and Mrs. Holsopple, who shared a powerful message titled “The Cost of Conviction.” They taught from Gospel of Luke 9:23: “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”

Students were challenged to choose Jesus for themselves, while also understanding that following Him comes with a cost, it requires surrender and sacrifice. The chapel concluded with a meaningful response time, where students wrote one thing on a paper cross that they want or need to submit to Jesus.

Last Recess

Student Council is excited to host their final event of the year - Last Recess! On Friday, May 1, students will enjoy a half day of classes followed by an afternoon outdoors filled with games, activities, and a parent-provided lunch. (Students with dietary restrictions should plan to bring their own lunch.)

The celebration begins earlier in the week with themed dress-up days, leading into a REN Pep Assembly on Tuesday to build excitement. Please remember that all dress-up days (except Tuesday) are top only, with standard dress code bottoms required. An email with details about dress up days will follow.

A special highlight of Last Recess is welcoming our 8th graders into the high school experience while celebrating our seniors. 8th graders are encouraged to fully participate in all dress-up days, the pep assembly, and the event itself!

On Friday, students should remain in dress code during the half day and may change into athletic wear before heading outside. Don’t forget a labeled water bottle, and for those joining water games, a towel and change of clothes.

We look forward to celebrating the end of the year together!
