A Note from Dr. Neubeck

The best athletic teams I know are the ones where the coaches are highly qualified at knowing what to look for and be able to give valuable feedback to help the players improve and succeed. Sometimes, the coaches just need to be a cheerleader and have the ability to motivate the players to be their best. The staff of the Byron School District strive every day to be these best team we can for our students. We also depend on people who can coach our teaching staff and help them to perfect their skills. We are fortunate to have three very talented and caring instructional coaches who work tirelessly to support our teachers and, in turn, have a positive impact on our students.

As other great Hall of Fame coaches, our coaches build strong relationships, understand where our teachers are at, know what great teaching looks like, and is able to give feedback that makes a difference. They also know when a teacher needs to find some motivation after a long week and when to just be there to listen. Thank you Holly, Janelle, and Katelyn for all that you do to help Byron schools be a great place to learn and even a better place to teach.

It's Great To Be A Byron Bear!

Byron District Office Has Moved

The Byron District Office has moved from the DACS building to its own location at 801 Frontage Road (just west of Otto's Bakery). The purchase of the former Zumbro Education office building was part of the referendum. It has 17 office and a large conference room. In past years, the Byron District Office would often have to find a new home due to growth in the district and the directors of the various departments were housed in different schools. The new Byron District Office will house the following departments: Superintendent, Business, Curriculum and Instruction, Special Education, Technology, and Buildings/Grounds. The phone number is still the same at 507-775-2383 and the office hours are from 7:30 - 4:30 Monday-Friday. We will be having an open house on Monday, October 24th. More detailed information will be available at a later date.

One more Opportunity to Meet School Board Candidates

Six school board vacancies will be on the ballot during this November's election. Because of three resignations since November 2020, three 2-year term vacancies are available along with three 4-year term vacancies. Seven people have filed for the 2-year term vacancies and four people have filed for the 4-year term vacancies.

The Byron Education Association will be hosting a "School Board Candidate Forum". Candidates will be issued questions in advance and will be asked to be on stage to answer those questions. The evening will be held at Byron High School on Thursday, October 13th from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM. Don't forget to vote on Tuesday, November 8.

High School Staff on College Dress Day

Kids Helping Kids!!

The Kids Helping Kids Program was busy again this week! Our boys soccer representatives (Talon Henderson, Noah Schrooten, Ayden Tye, and Ryan Boyken) took time out of their day to interact with with Mrs. Pompeii's awesome Kindergartners! The KHK program allows our high school athletes to promote positive values and morals in an educational atmosphere. Judging by the smiles on their faces it seems that the high school students enjoyed their experience as much as our kindergartners.
