A Note from the Principal A Note from the Principal

Orca Families:

As we embrace the vibrant season of spring, I am delighted to share with you the many positives happening at our school. Our recent Spring Concerts were a testament to the dedication and talent of our students, showcasing their musical prowess and artistic expression. Thank you for filling the gym in support of the students as they performed the uplifting pieces for you.

I am thrilled to report that our Mileage Club has seen unprecedented participation, promoting fitness and healthy habits among our students. Their energy and commitment to staying active are truly commendable.

Furthermore, I am pleased to announce positive growth in our students Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) scores in both Math and Reading this year with 97% of our students taking the tests. Our school made an amazing 74th percentile growth in Math this year and ended up at the 61st percentile in achievement nationally. Additionally, in Reading we scored in the 58th percentile nationally in achievement. This accomplishment reflects the hard work of our students, the support of our dedicated staff, and the ongoing partnership with our parents.

Join us on your First Friday community walk for our Art Extravaganza Friday, May 2nd 4:00 -6:00pm. Come celebrate creativity and innovation across all grades and take part in creative, hands on activities in the gym!

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. Together, we are nurturing a learning environment where every child can thrive and succeed.

West Homer PTO is for everyone!

You are invited to join us in being part of the PTO. We spend the year building community here at West by celebrating staff and students, fundraising, and hosting community events. All these activities remind us how much we can invest in our schools and the people who make West Homer a place to learn and building connections. Please reach out if you would like to help organize the spring talent show, staff appreciation week, or the end of year BBQ. Email us at ptowesthomer@gmail.com.
