Community Connection

Jayhawk Families,

We are wrapping up week five of the first semester. We encourage families to continue checking grades in PowerSchool and having conversations with students about both their successes and areas where they may need additional support. Our Advisory and Hawk Time teachers review grades with students each Tuesday, and we run eligibility reports on Friday mornings for the following week. If students need assistance, we want to partner with you in encouraging them to connect with their teachers during Advisory or Hawk Time.

Cultivating Kindness will continue this year in partnership with F & M Bank. Each month, we recognize one student who demonstrates our Jayhawk Pride values and embodies kindness within our school community. Students themselves are taking the lead in identifying and nominating their peers for this honor.

Check out our September selections below. We are so proud of our students! You will also see a picture capturing a special moment of Gabe helping Dakota with his tie. Moments like these remind us that our students are truly Cultivating Kindness every day.

Kiera shines through her kindness each day. She is always there for others, offering support and encouragement. Her smile lights up the room and makes those around her feel valued and uplifted. She loves Jayhawk-Linn and demonstrates her pride through her positive actions. As a true leader, she sets an example of what it means to care for others and cultivate kindness in our school community.

Presley truly embodies kindness in everything she does. She has such a caring heart and is always willing to help and look out for others. Presley is sweet, respectful, and consistently responds with the kindest attitude, no matter the situation. She also brings joy and laughter wherever she goes—her sense of humor makes it impossible not to smile around her! Presley’s positivity and happiness make her a wonderful person to be around and a shining example of what it means to cultivate kindness.
