Middle school art students, guided by teacher Ms. Weidner, recently completed a creative project that highlighted both artistic skill and personal inspiration. Students used oil pastels to create portraits of people they admire, producing vibrant and thoughtful works of art.

The project encouraged students to not only practice new techniques but also reflect on the qualities that inspire them in others. The finished portraits turned out beautifully. Great job to all of our #EdenRaiders.

At Eden Central, a simple greeting goes a long way. That’s why we are excited to bring back the Just Say Hello initiative for the 2025 school year!

The goal is simple: create a culture of kindness, connection, and respect by encouraging students and staff to greet one another each day. Whether it’s a friendly wave in the hallway, a smile in the cafeteria, or a cheerful “hello” when entering the classroom, these small gestures help build a strong and welcoming school community.

Over the past year, Just Say Hello has had a big impact in helping students feel included and valued. This year, we look forward to seeing the initiative grow even stronger as we continue to foster positive relationships and remind everyone that kindness starts with a simple hello.

There’s something truly magical about the first day. Fresh notebooks, new friendships, and a full year of success. We are proud to welcome our Eden Raiders back and can’t wait to see all they accomplish this year!

Students recently had the chance to teach Superintendent Jeff Sortisio a special part of our school day tradition, the Morning Meeting. Together, we practiced shaking our neighbor’s hand, looking them in the eyes, and saying a friendly “hello.”

It was a simple but powerful reminder of the importance of kindness, respect, and connection. Mr. Sortisio joined right in with our students, showing that a warm greeting can set a positive tone for the entire day.

Second graders at Eden GLP were treated to a special visit from none other than Johnny Appleseed himself! Students gathered to hear the classic story of Johnny Appleseed, learning about his adventures and the legacy he left behind.

The celebration continued in the classroom with apple-themed activities that blended fun with learning. Students practiced their math skills through “apple math” challenges and capped off the day by making homemade apple crisp. The delicious treat brought smiles all around and made the lesson even more memorable.

This hands-on experience was the perfect way to connect history, literacy, and math while also celebrating the fall season.

High school students in Mrs. Rockwood-Klute’s science class are diving into hands-on learning while keeping safety a top priority. Before beginning their latest experiment, students suited up with goggles and protective gear, ensuring they were prepared for an engaging and safe experience.

From exploring new concepts to practicing careful lab procedures, students are building both knowledge and confidence in the science classroom. These opportunities not only spark curiosity but also reinforce the importance of responsibility and safety in every experiment.

Mrs. DeWald’s health class recently took team building to new heights. Working in groups of four, students began by exploring their unique similarities, recording shared interests and traits on index cards.

The challenge didn’t stop there. Using those commonalities as inspiration, each group collaborated to build the tallest tower they could. The activity sparked creativity, friendly competition, and a lot of laughter, all while emphasizing the importance of working together.

Through this hands-on experience, students demonstrated ingenuity, problem-solving, and the true power of collaboration.

Our PK-5 teachers recently participated in a powerful professional development session led by our Science of Reading teacher leaders: Kelly Grimaldi, Sue Wieberg, Tiffany Kwas, and Sarah O’Brien.

The focus of the day was fluency & exploring the science behind how students build reading confidence and accuracy.

Through engaging breakout sessions, educators collaborated, shared strategies, and strengthened their instructional practices to better support young readers.

This commitment to continuous growth ensures that our students benefit from the most effective, research-based approaches to literacy instruction.

What a night it was! Thank you to everyone who joined us for our very first Back to School Bash. The weather was perfect, and our PreK–5th grade students had an amazing time celebrating the start of the school year.

From the bounce obstacle course and face painting to arts and crafts, the bake sale, a reptile demonstration, and the always-popular ice cream truck, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The laughter and excitement could be heard all evening as students and families created lasting memories together.

A very special thank-you went out to the PTA for organizing this fun-filled community event. Thanks to their hard work, the school year was kicked off with smiles, energy, and plenty of excitement for the months ahead.
