A Note from Mr. Headrick
November: Gratitude and Empathy
November is the perfect time to pause and remember all the good things in our lives. This month, our school is focusing on gratitude and empathy, two big words that simply mean being thankful and caring about others. Gratitude helps us notice the special people and moments that make our days brighter, and empathy reminds us to understand how others feel and show we care. Together, they help make Park Creek an even more caring and connected place to learn and grow.
At school, students will be talking about what theyβre thankful for and finding ways to show care and understanding to those around them. It might be sharing a smile, lending a helping hand, or using words of gratitude to lift someone up. We want every child to feel the happiness that comes from being thoughtful and from knowing that others care about them too. These simple moments help build friendships and make our classrooms feel like family.
Weβd love for you to join us in celebrating gratitude and empathy at home this month. Talk about what made you feel thankful today or notice when someone shows care for others. When families and schools work together to nurture these values, we help our children grow into thoughtful, compassionate, and joyful learners.

π Student Celebration Guidelines π
We love celebrating special moments with our students! Parents are welcome to send cupcakes or a small treat for the entire class to enjoy after lunch or recess in honor of their childβs birthday. To help us keep the day running smoothly, please coordinate with your childβs teacher in advance if you plan to send a birthday treat.
We kindly ask that you do not send balloons, large decorations, or party favors, as we are unable to accommodate these during the school day. While we do not hold birthday parties during instructional time, weβll be sure to make your child feel celebrated in a fun and meaningful way.
Thank you for partnering with us to create a joyful and focused learning environment!
