Principal News and Notes

We have been prepping for our students' return, and can't wait for Monday morning! We are looking forward to the new backpacks, carefully selected outfits, and restrained nerves that define the first day of a middle school student. We're here for every student, and will welcome all with energy, enthusiasm, and understanding.

* The first day of school is Monday, August 31. On the first day, all students will report to the blacktop area, and enter the building together for a welcome assembly. After the first day, students in grades 5 and 6 will have outdoor recess until 8:10 each day. Students in grades 7 and 8 will enter the building and proceed to their homeroom.

* All students must arrive by 8:15 each day, or will be considered tardy. New this year: students arriving after 8:15 must enter the building with an adult to be signed in.

* Each day, students will turn in all personal devices, such as cell phones, smart watches, and smart/AI glasses to their homeroom, which will have a designated location for these items.

* Each Thursday, please watch for that week's edition to the Rye Current, which will include important dates, school wide information, and team newsletters.
