Greetings Parents and Guardians,

November will quickly be upon us! Please make note of the following important events occurring in November here at the Forked River School:

November 5th and 6th - School is Closed for the NJEA Convention.

November 19th - Make-up School Picture Day - If you would like your child's picture retaken please send them to school with their first set of pictures which they will return and have a new picture taken. Your child should keep the class picture. If your child missed the first school picture day, please call the main office and we will send a school picture order form home with your child that you will need to complete and send in with your child on November 19th to have their picture taken.

November 20th - The annual FRS Harvest Hoedown will take place in our multi-purpose room. Students are encouraged to wear their favorite western wear! Two guests per student are invited to attend the hoedown. For planning purposes, space is limited for spectators to standing room only in our All-Purpose room. All visitors must report to our main entrance and have a valid photo ID available upon signing in. They must also be listed as a contact for your child here at school. Our students will be participating in this event during the following times:

• 9:20 to 9:50 – All Third Grade Classes
• 9:55 to 10:25 - All Fourth Grade Classes to include Mrs. Guide's Class
• 10:30 to 11:00 – All Fifth Grade Classes
• 1:45 to 2:15 – All First Grade Classes
• 2:35 to 3:05 – All Second Grade Classes to include Mrs. King's Class

November 25th – FRS will dismiss at 1:00 PM for Thanksgiving Holiday Travel. Lunch will not be served. However, breakfast will be served. Students attending the Champions Aftercare program should pack a lunch.

November 26th and 27th - School will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Happy Thanksgiving!

• Nov 13th - World Kindness Day – (Wear Yellow to Celebrate Kindness)
• Nov 20th - Hoedown - (Wear Your Best Western Wear)

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our September and October Students of the Month at the Forked River School. These students were chosen by our special area teachers for their positive attitudes, helpful nature, and commitment to learning.

Your child’s safety is very important to us. Please be sure to keep our school records current within your child's Parent Portal on changes with phone numbers as well as emergency contacts. This is crucial in the event we need to get in touch with you. Also, please note that our student drop-off time begins at 8:50 AM in the west parking lot. If there is a need to drop your child off earlier, please contact the Champions Childcare Program by calling 609-851-9543.

In closing, we would like to wish all of our students and their families a fun and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday.
