Our Giesinger staff is READY and EXCITED to welcome our Little Eagles on Wednesday! 💙

Over the past several weeks, our entire staff, along with the Conroe ISD construction crews and custodial teams, have worked incredibly hard to get Giesinger ready for our students. This weekend, many of our staff members and wonderful volunteers from The Ark Church helped us put on the final touches to make our students’ first day as magical as possible. We are so grateful for everyone who has helped us prepare!

🏫 Gym & Schedule Update

As many of you noticed at Meet the Teacher, our beautiful new gym is not quite ready for us yet! The estimated opening is late September or October.

Because of this, our Leadership Team and teachers have carefully created schedules that will allow us to begin the school year without the gym. Once the gym opens, we will transition to our regular schedule. At that time, you may notice some adjustments to lunch times and other parts of your child’s school day. We will communicate those changes with families before they happen.

A HUGE thank you to our families and PTO for coming out to Meet the Teacher on Friday! It was so joyful to see our students back in the building, meet new families, and feel Giesinger filled with excitement again.

We truly look forward to partnering and collaborating with you throughout the 2026–2027 school year.

First day of school is Wednesday, August 12, 2026

Arrival:

For the first three days of school, parents who would like to walk their child to class are welcome to do so.

🚶 Walking Your Child to Class
Parents and students may enter through the front side doors beginning at 7:30 AM.

🚗 Dropping Off Your Child
If you are dropping off only, students may enter the building beginning at 7:15 AM and will report to the cafeteria.

Dismissal:

Thank you, Giesinger families, for helping us start the year smoothly by having your Eagles at school on time and picked up on time!

🚗 Car Rider Parents: Please plan to be in the car rider line by 3:10 PM for dismissal.

⏰ After the first three days of school: Students arriving after 8:00 AM will need to be walked inside by a parent. For dismissal, parents arriving after 3:40 PM will need to park and come inside to pick up their child.

Once your child has been placed in your vehicle, please pull forward and completely out of the car rider line before stopping to buckle your child in. This helps us keep the line moving safely and efficiently.

For safety, all students will be placed in the back seat on the passenger side of the vehicle.

🚗 Car Riders & Walkers
If you were unable to attend Meet the Teacher, please stop by Giesinger on Monday, August 10, or Tuesday, August 11 to pick up your Car Rider or Walker signs at the front desk. Having your signs ready will help dismissal run safely and smoothly from the very first day!

🚌 Bus Riders
If your child will ride the bus, please check the Conroe ISD website on Monday, August 10 for updated:

• Bus routes
• Pick-up and drop-off times
• Bus stop locations

PK and Kindergarten parents and guardians: An approved adult must be at the bus stop every day to receive your child from the bus.

If an approved adult is not present at the bus stop, your child will be returned to Giesinger Elementary.

Breakfast- Will be served starting at 7:15-7:55, unless there is a late bus.

If your student eats at school, you must get them to school on time.

All students will receive a SMART Tag for their backpack. This tag is used for transportation purposes. Students who ride the bus scan on and off the bus.

Parents can download the Smart Tag Parent App to get updates about their child's entry and exit from routes and get notifications of delays.

Please help us ensure our Eagles come to school dressed appropriately and ready to learn! 💙🦅

• Clothing may not display lewd, violent, suggestive, offensive, vulgar, or obscene images or language or advertise/depict tobacco, alcohol, or drugs.
• Halter tops, muscle shirts, and spaghetti straps must be covered by another shirt.
• Shirts must cover the midsection, and all undergarments must remain covered.
• Shorts, dresses, and skirts should be an appropriate length (fingertip length).
• If wearing leggings, shirts should cover the backside.
• Hair and hairstyles should not create a distraction to the learning environment.
• Flip-flops, crocs, slippers, and backless shoes may not be worn during P.E.
• Costumes or costume pieces may only be worn when pre-approved for a specific school activity or project.
• Clothing or accessories that cause a distraction to the learning environment are not permitted.

Every Friday, we encourage our Eagles to wear a Giesinger Elementary shirt or our school colors—blue and white!

🏫 Visitors on Campus

We are excited to welcome you to Giesinger! For the safety and security of our students and staff, please follow these steps when visiting our campus:

• 🔔 Ring the front doorbell.
• 🗣️ Let the front office know how we can help you.
• 🚪 Wait to be buzzed into the secure vestibule.
• 🪪 Have your photo ID ready.
• Don't let anyone follow you into the building

🍎 Lunch Visitors

Parents and guardians may begin joining their child for lunch starting Monday, August 24, 2026.

We appreciate your patience as we use the first two weeks of school to help our Eagles learn their routines, procedures, and expectations. 💙🦅

Volunteering on Campus or for Field Trips

Please remember that in order to volunteer on campus (reading to a class, going on a field trip, helping, etc...), parents must have completed the Volunteer Background check for the district. This must be completed each year for every school where you will volunteer so if you have students at 3 different schools, you must complete it for all 3 schools. See link below.

Giesinger Elementary has a registered nurse assigned to its clinic Monday through Friday. In order to assist the classroom teacher and school nurse, each child must have a health information form completed on InfoSnap prior to the first day of school.

Medication at School: Students are never allowed to carry medication (including cough drops) to school. An adult must bring all medications to the school clinic. Specific information is required from parents before medication can be dispensed at school. Please refer to the Conroe ISD Student handbook for information and requirements relating to medication and the school clinic.

Parents who have student who take medication at school. You may drop off your medication with Nurse Nicole Monday and Tuesday before school starts. 8:00-3:30 PM.

Throughout the school year, Giesinger Elementary partners with various community organizations to provide additional support and resources for our students and families. These opportunities may include assistance with holiday gifts, school supplies, clothing, food, and other family needs.
