Dear Trail Blazer Community
Happy Tuesday

Grade 11
The SAT SD will be administered on campus on Wednesday, March 6 to 11th graders only.
Testing will begin at 9:00 AM sharp and anyone who arrives late will not be allowed to test.
Students taking the SAT are not permitted to access cell phones or smart watches during the exam. Devices must be powered off and stored in a designated location during the exam. If a student is observed with any prohibited electronic device in the testing room or during a break their scores will be canceled.
Students will receive an email by March 4th with their test room number.
Students with late arrival 1B must arrive by 9:00 AM.
Students who will miss a dual credit course due to the SAT must communicate with their professor prior to test day.
Students should bring the following on test day:
School-issued Chromebook, if applicable
pencils
snacks and drinks (may only be consumed during official breaks)
All FISD 11th grade students are automatically registered to take the SAT, free of charge, during the school day on March 6, 2024.
This spring the SAT School Day will be administered in a new digital format that will provide an overall easier testing experience for students. Your student will take the SAT on March 6th using their own school-issued device. If your student has not opted in to the 1 for All Chromebook program, there will be a limited number of Chromebooks available on test day on a first come, first served basis.

Our students in the Independent Study & Mentorship (ISM) class showed off their hard work at the District Showcase at UNT Frisco on Friday evening. I got to see the work that these students are doing and it is nothing short of amazing. Many of the students spoke about wanting to make an impact on the world and working with underserved communities. This was a great reminder that the future is bright for our students and that we are helping mold these students into not only intelligent adults, but also into empathetic and compassionate beings.
Our LTHS art students brought 48 entries (spread across 38 students) to our Art UIL competition called, VASE (Visual Arts Scholastic Event). Of those entries, all of them scored the highest possible rating of a 4 in which they all earned a medal! Lebanon Trail has 3 entries from 3 different students advancing to State this year: Fathima Farha, Twisha Kanumuru and Vardaan Trivedi. State is held in San Marcos on April 26-27. We're so proud of our students for all their hard work through this process!
VASE is a competition that hits all the soft skills as well as artistic technical skills. Students can enter up to 2 pieces each. The pieces are rated on a scale of 1-4 (highest). The students are also judged in their division based on HS art credits, meaning an Art 1 student doesn't compete against an AP Art student. Before the event, the artwork goes through a rigorous qualifying process where anything that does not meet the strict guidelines of original and authentic concepts and imagery is disqualified.
Check out their amazing artwork below.
