Activity Expectations- Review for Homecoming Game! Activity Expectations- Review for Homecoming Game!

Anoka-Hennepin Schools are committed to creating experiences that showcase the talents of student-athletes in an environment that promotes healthy competition. These guidelines create clear, consistent expectations to ensure a fun, safe, and positive environment for all students, families, staff and spectators.

As your family makes a plan to attend school events, keep the following guidelines in mind:

  • Purchasing event tickets

    • Save time and avoid long lines and purchase your tickets online by clicking here.
  • Event entrance overview and expectations

    • Bring student IDs and allow extra time for admission and entry. Only students from the host and visiting schools are welcome to attend and are required to show a student ID- this is a firm expectation, no student ID, no entry. Students from any other schools/non-participating schools must be accompanied by an adult chaperone or they will be denied entrance.

    • Entrance expectations- Football Games

      • Only students from CRHS and the opponent's school will be allowed into the game.

      • CRHS students must enter through the student gate on the East end of the stadium and have a student ID ready to show at entry.

      • Elementary and middle school students must enter through the Main Gate and be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

      • Spectators will be admitted through the end of the first half and no spectators will be allowed entry after the start of the second half.
  • Plan for parent/guardian chaperones in accordance with district guidelines to monitor student activity and behavior.

    • The student-to-adult chaperone ratio is 2:1 for middle and elementary school students.

    • Adult chaperones are expected to monitor their student’s behavior and cannot leave the stadium without their students- all middle school students must sit with their parents/chaperones. Adult chaperones and students who are unable to follow these guidelines may be asked to leave the facility.

  • Get behind your team!
    • Spectators are expected to view the event in the appropriate designated seating area.

    • Students are expected to be supporting their classmates during events from the stands and not wandering in or around the event (e.g. behind bleachers, Fieldhouse, Mezzanine, etc). Of course students are allowed to purchase snacks from the concession stands but are expected to return to the stands immediately afterwards.

  • Leave extra items at home or in your vehicle.

    • Backpacks, large bags/purses and outside food or drink (if concessions are sold on-site) are not allowed and school staff will not supervise or hold belongings.

    • Anoka-Hennepin prohibits weapons, alcoholic beverages, e-cigarettes / vaping, tobacco products and controlled substances.

  • Powders and/or airborne irritants prohibited

    • Students who introduce baby powder or other airborne irritants at events will be removed from the activity and are subject to disciplinary action consistent with district policy. Powders are a health risk and they are prohibited at all events.

  • Students must have a scheduled ride or exit the grounds at the conclusion of the event.

  • Spectators who are unwilling or unable to follow the rules, regulations, or directions from event staff may be asked to leave the event and not be refunded.

It takes everyone to keep school events and activities safe
. If your student, you or anyone in your family sees something or hears something suspicious or threatening in nature, report the information to school leadership or law enforcement immediately.

Student Personal Learning Plans (PLP) Accessible in Scoir Student Personal Learning Plans (PLP) Accessible in Scoir

Students now can access their digital Personal Learning Plan in Scoir (pronounced score) and are encouraged to utilize time during late-starts Mondays throughout the calendar year to complete this important work. Once a student is logged into Coon Rapids High School, they can find the Scoir icon on the Rapid Identity screen and will have several tasks assigned to help them discover and research paths that match their talents and passions. PLPs will provide a wealth of resources that can assist students in discovering career paths, gaining insights into different industries, and understanding the skills required for specific jobs. Ultimately, the PLP is designed to help students plan for their futures so they are prepared to achieve their goals.

Please check in with your student about their PLP and the progress they are making. This is an excellent opportunity for you to learn alongside your student and have important conversations about future planning so you can best support them in this process.

HOSA: Future Health Professionals, for the second consecutive year, is hosting their Coins for Cancer event fundraising for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Each 1st-hour (that requests a bag from Mrs. Yankovec, @Katie.Yankovec@ahschools.us) competes to win a donut party sponsored by Mr. Pena. Here’s the 2 ways students can contribute towards their class & donate to this fundraiser:

1: Students/teachers may bring money (coins or cash) and deposit it into the pink Breast Cancer Awareness bag inside of their 1st hour class.

2: Students/teachers may donate online through the QR Code posted above, and email coonrapidshosa5@gmail.com with 1) proof/screenshot of the donation & 2) the name of the 1st hour class teacher. **Please note that online donations have a minimum of $5.

Please double check that your class is participating before donating. 1st-hour teachers must either request a donation bag from Mrs. Yankovec OR email that the class will only be doing online donations if the class is participating in the fundraiser.

Even if your class is not participating, consider donating! Every donation, big or small, can help make a difference. Let’s come together to make an impact, spread awareness, and support those affected by breast cancer!

Attend to Achieve- Support Student Attendance & Student Success! Attend to Achieve- Support Student Attendance & Student Success!

Students need to attend school to achieve in school. Anoka-Hennepin Schools aims to share attendance and resources and tips with families to support student success.

Every day counts: Research shows that missing 10 percent of school negatively affects a student’s academic performance. That’s just two days a month! (Attendance Works.) District student services staff and attendance secretaries at each school may reach out to families throughout the school year if your student is at risk of truancy.

Why it matters: The more involved students are in school, the more likely they are to enjoy and want to attend school. Students who attend school 95% of the time are:

  • More likely to be on track to graduate on time.
  • Do better in reading and math.
  • Are less likely to fail a class.
  • Are more likely to have the credits needed to graduate.

Families can make a difference: We can all work together to support students. Consider how you can help your student attend to achieve!

  • Teach your child to organize their clothes, lunch and books for school the night before, so they are prepared in the morning.
  • Encourage your child to participate in before- or after-school activities. Students who are involved at school usually enjoy school more and are more likely to want to attend each day.
  • Schedule non-emergency health and dental appointments outside of school hours; and schedule vacations for days your children don’t have school.
  • If you know your child needs to miss school, contact the office as soon as possible to coordinate plans as soon as possible.
