Blue Devils Give Back ππ
A food drive organized by the Burgettstown Boys Basketball Team was a tremendous success! The generosity, time, and support shown by our players, families, and community made a meaningful difference.
Coach Bryan Multony expressed his sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed, noting how the teamβs efforts reflect the true spirit of community and kindness that defines Blue Devil Pride β especially during this season of giving.
In the coming weeks, the team will continue their tradition of service by helping pack holiday food boxes through the Boost Bags Program, ensuring local families have what they need for a joyful holiday season.
Thank you for being part of something bigger! π

Exploring the Future of Innovation! π€β¨
Burgettstown High School students had an incredible day at the Pittsburgh Robotics & AI Discovery Day at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center! From electric vehicle conversions to industrial robotics and AI-driven technologies, our students experienced firsthand how automation and innovation are transforming the modern world.
They interacted with engineers, designers, and university representatives from Robert Morris University, the University of Pittsburgh, and Penn State, learning about the pathways that lead from classroom curiosity to real-world careers in STEM, robotics, and advanced manufacturing.
It was a day filled with exploration, discovery, and inspirationβigniting ideas for the next generation of innovators! π‘π§

Balancing Science and Creativity in 3rd Grade! βοΈπ¨
Mrs. Readβs 3rd grade scientists explored balance and motion by constructing asymmetrical mobiles in an OpenSciEd lesson aligned to the STEELS Science Standards.
Students experimented with weight, force, and design to create mobiles that balanced perfectly β even when the pieces werenβt identical! Through hands-on discovery, they learned how small adjustments can shift equilibrium, demonstrating key physical science concepts in a fun and creative way.
It was a perfect blend of STEM learning and artistic expression β and our young engineers couldnβt wait to show off their finished projects! π‘π¬

Kindergarten Rocks Around the Clock! πΆπ©·π€
Our Kindergarten students celebrated the 50th day of the 2025-2026 school year in classic 1950s style with a fun-filled Sock Hop Social this week!
Dressed for sock hop fun, our youngest Blue Devils danced to rock-βnβ-roll tunes, enjoyed tasty floats, and practiced counting to 50 in creative ways. The celebration tied learning and laughter together, helping students recognize just how much theyβve grown since the first day of school.
It was a fabulous 50s day full of smiles, music, and Blue Devil spirit! π΅π

Electronic Ticketing for Burgettstown Athletics!
This year, the Burgettstown Athletic Department is introducing digital ticketing for regular season football, volleyball, girls and boys basketball, and wrestling. Though all fans may still purchase a ticket "at the gate," but those who wish to avoid lines and pre-purchase an electronic ticket may do so by accessing the digital ticketing feature on the Hudl Fan page. Single game regular season tickets for both students and adults are available. Also, for those who know that will likely attend all games in a particular season, a season pass can be purchased. Please note: there is a processing fee, per ticket. This fee does not go to the school district, it is a vendor fee in support of the electronic ticketing feature. Scan the QR code or the button below to access the Hudl Fan page.

A Note about Commencement for the Class of 2026
Our school community has embraced the uniqueness of conducting commencement exercises at Star Lake for decades. The various management groups throughout the years have supported this by donating the use of the facility and we are most appreciative. While it is early in the school year, we want to make note that in order to hold graduation at Star Lake, flexibility in planning is necessary. Believe it or not, the planning for the next year begins shortly after the school year ends. We notify Star Lake management of our desired date and it is recorded as a preferred date. There are no guarantees, and in the past several years, we have not been able to finalize the date until some point in April. We know this causes a bit of anxiousness on the part of our seniors and their families, but if we want to continue this fine tradition, we must remain flexible. After last year's Commencement, we informed the management at Star Lake that our preferred date for this year's Commencement is June 5, 2026. While this is our preferred date, there is no guarantee that we will get it. As the months go by this year, the District will remain in contact with Star Lake management. When we know the confirmed date, we will communicate it to our students and families. Though graduation may be the last thing on anyone's mind this early in the school year, we wanted to communicate this information so there are no misunderstandings.
