President's Message
Happy September,
Labor Day is a time for reflection for those that have sacrifice before us! During the Industrial Revolution in the late 1800s, average laborers worked 12 hours a day, seven days a week, often in unsafe environments with very low pay and child labor. On September 5, 1882, about 10,000 workers took unpaid leave to march in New York City in the first-ever Labor Day parade organized by labor unions. Following labor strikes and social unrest, Congress voted to make it a legal holiday, and President Grover Cleveland signed it into law on June 28, 1894.
I provide this brief history, just to reflect how far we have come. Your membership to your association provides you protection and a chance to grieve a situation when needed. Be proud of your membership!
Have a great Labor Day Weekend and have a productive September!

Evaluation Information Sheet
A project that came from the bargaining table last year was a project I worked on with the District to give Educators a clearer snapshot of what is in our contract for Evaluations! I hope it helps.
