The Eagle Eye
The Eagle Eye - August 14, 2026
#EaglePride
Dear Washington Families,
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! Whether you're joining the Washington family for the first time or returning for another year, we're so excited to welcome you back!
At Washington, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and like they truly belong. Building strong relationships and creating a positive school community are at the heart of everything we do because we know students learn best when they feel connected and cared for.
This year, we'll continue building on our CHAMPS expectations and what it means to show #EaglePride. Together, we'll practice the skills that help us create classrooms where everyone can learn, grow, and succeed. When we work together, support one another, and celebrate each other's successes, we truly SOAR Together.
We can't wait to share another year filled with learning, laughter, and fun with you. Get ready for monthly Eagle Pride adventures, family events, spirit days, and new opportunities to celebrate what makes our Washington community so special. We're looking forward to welcoming our new and returning Eagles on September 8th. You can expect weekly newsletters on Fridays at 3:00 pm moving forward!
Here's to a wonderful 2026-2027 school year!

Sharpen the Saw in the Summer w/Choice Boards!
Be sure to check out the Summer Choice Boards that our Washington staff made to help keep students learning and growing over the summer. The goal is to keep learning light, playful, and connected to everyday experiences while still practicing important skills.
We encourage students to complete as many activities as they can throughout the summer and return their completed choice board at the beginning of the school year. Students who turn in their board will be invited to a special celebration and entered into a raffle for some fun prizes to kick off the new school year!

Take a moment to review the safe snack list and make sure your child to school with a safe snack each day!
Financial Assistance
The Board of Education of Mundelein Elementary School District 75 is committed to ensuring all students have access to educational and co-curricular opportunities. To support this goal, the district will waive all school fees and fines required for participation if a student’s parent or guardian qualifies for assistance. To be considered for a waiver of registration and beginning-of-year fees, returning families must submit their application by October 15, 2026.
Applications submitted after this date will apply only to future fees. New families have 30 days from their student’s first day of school to apply; if approved within that window, registration fees may be waived. After the 30-day period, assistance may still be requested, but it will only apply to future fees.
Read the attached letter from the district to learn how to apply!
Back to School Webinar! (pre-recorded)
