Greetings AGS Families! It was great to see our students and families in the building this afternoon. The construction has progressed very quickly and the building looks great! Reminder that the building will be accessible on Monday from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM for students to tour the building.

Student Pick-up/drop-off procedures will remain the same. In the morning, students will enter the building through the East and West doors (near the gym and cafetorium). The doors open for students at 7:00 AM. Please see the section below regarding Pick-Up and Drop-Off procedures.

Typically teachers post their supply lists outside of their classroom for schedule pick up. Due to the ongoing construction students will not be able to walk through the building during schedule pick up. We will be posting times for walk throughs before the start of school. In the meantime we are creating a spreadsheet that is linked in this newsletter (linked below). Please continue to check back as the list will be continually updated. Thank You!!

DROP OFF / PICK UP LOOP

We realize that school drop off and pick up loop procedures are not the most convenient. However, please understand that the safety of AGS students will always be our first priority. The current procedure is considered to be the safest approach as endorsed by the Fenton Police Department and County Traffic Engineers. We appreciate your cooperation and patience during the morning and afternoon drop off/pick times.

Things to remember:

The loop off of Shiawassee is for PARENT drop off / pick up
Students may be dropped off across Donaldson Drive
There is a crossing guard at Donaldson Drive during drop off and pick up
There are over 2000 students arriving and departing in the same vicinity (AGS/FHS)
The Donaldson (front) Loop and Entrance is for Bus Traffic Only
After 7:30 AM, please drop students off at the New Main Entrance (off of Shiawassee)

We look forward to seeing you at the AGS Open House. This a great opportunity to meet your child's teacher and visit their classrooms. The Open House is not intended to be a conference with teachers, rather an opportunity to meet them.

This year's format will be Open House style, instead of following an abbreviated bell schedule. This format allows parents to stop into classrooms anytime between 6:00 - 7:30 PM. Parents will be able to meet teachers, pick up course syllabi, and preview course texts/materials.

Please use ParentVue/StudentVue for course schedules, if possible. Schedules may be printed in the main upon request.

Maps of the school with room numbers will be available at the main entrance of AGS upon arrival.

If your student has one of the following teachers, they will be available in the Tiger Den during the open house (Room E 133):

**Please note: some teachers will not be available during open house due to coaching responsibilities. A list of those not in attendance will be included in subsequent newsletters.

CHECK YOUR SCHEDULES ON STUDENTVUE -

Please make sure your student checks for any changes to their schedule in StudentVue before the first day of school. Schedule changes will be ongoing, so please check it up until Monday afternoon for any revisions. The CURRENT schedule on StudentVue will be what your student follows on their first day of school, NOT the paper copy they received at schedule pick up.

SCHEDULE CHANGE/CORRECTION REQUESTS -

If your student has a schedule change/correction request, they need to complete this form Schedule Change/Correction. All schedule requests need to be submitted via this google form ASAP. Please DO NOT email the counselors - simply complete the online form & they will take care of your request. Again, schedules will be revised through Monday, 8/18.

ONLY REQUEST A CHANGE/CORRECTION IF -

1. Error in the schedule.

2. Change in elective request.

Please DO NOT request a change in teacher. This has to be approved by administration only.

As we get closer to the start of school I wanted to reach out and reintroduce myself. My name is Lauren Underwood and I am your School Home Coordinator. My main goals and focus are making sure that our students and families basic needs are being met so our kids can be the best version of themselves.

Below are a few updated photos showing the progress of our bond work and construction. During this There will be more details in the FAPS newsletter and on the FAPS website as the project continues. We are excited about improving the facility for our staff, students, and families.

AGS Exterior

You may have noticed the teal barrier and thought "who picked that color?" The teal sealant is a barrier that was sprayed on the bricks prior to the installment of the metal wrap. The metal fascia will cover the bricks that were spalling and chipping away. AGS will have a brand new look for 2025-26!

Part of the old main office is being transformed into a new Science Lab for our students.

Special Services will be joining AGS in part of the former office. The addition of a concession area (formerly the principal's office) for athletics and other events can be seen in the background.

New Concession Stand

The new concession stand is located in the main lobby near the gym and cafetorium. It was formerly Mr. Rettenmund's office.

We hope you can join us for the annual Back to School Pancake Breakfast. The event will be held at AGS on Sunday, September 7th. The event features FAPS Staff flipping pancakes, photo booth, FAPS Principal Pancake Catching Contest, kids games, and more! We hope to see you there!
