A Note from the Principal
Day 180/180!
And that's a wrap.
Thank you for your patience, support, and commitment throughout this school year. It has been an absolute pleasure educating your children during what has been another action packed year at the Jacobs School. From field trips and performances, to MCAS, House Challenges, assemblies, concerts, and everything in between, our students have accomplished so much. None of it would be possible without the strong partnership between home and school that makes the Jacobs community so special.
As we head into summer, I would strongly encourage families to support their child's reading habits. Summer reading is one of the best ways to prevent the "summer slide" and help students maintain the gains they made throughout the school year. Whether it is through our Summer Reading Program, a favorite book series, magazines, or simply reading for pleasure, every minute spent reading matters.
I would also encourage students to spend time on IXL Math throughout the summer. Even a few minutes each week can help reinforce important skills and make the transition back to school in the fall a smoother one.
Most importantly, I hope our students spend plenty of time being kids. Ride your bike. Go to the beach. Play outside. Spend time with family and friends. Make memories. Summer has a way of flying by, and before we know it, we will be welcoming everyone back for another exciting year at the Jacobs School.
On behalf of our entire staff, thank you for a wonderful school year. Have a safe, relaxing, and fun-filled summer.
-Mr. Shaw
