Student Drop Off & Pick Up Reminders

If you will be driving your students to and from school, please drop off and pick up in the athletic parking lot. Please do not use the front entrance as this is the bus loop and you may block busses or get blocked in by the busses.

Once in the athletic parking lot, if you are a front car, please follow the loop around and pull all the way forward to the end of the sidewalk. This allows 5-6 cars to unload at one time. It is important for your students to be ready to exit the car quickly and move into the building. Then the next 4-5 cars can pull forward. This allows a smooth and safe flow of traffic.

Please do not pull around other cars and please do not block traffic. We need to keep this area safe for all. Thank you!

Please take a minute to watch the video below for more information.

Press Pause, Power Down: New Cell Phone Guidelines for Students

Dublin City Schools is launching Press Pause, Power Down, a new campaign to support student focus and well-being by limiting distractions during the school day.

In alignment with a new Ohio law, students in all grade levels are prohibited from using personal communication devices during instructional hours, from the first bell to the last. Devices must be powered off or in airplane mode and stored out of sight.

We recognize this is a shift, especially for older students who previously had access during lunch or class transitions. However, this change is about protecting learning time and reducing distractions, stress, and unhealthy digital habits.

Students may only use their phones when directed by a teacher for educational purposes. In a true emergency, students will be permitted to contact families.

If you need to reach your child, please call the school office. Parents of Davis students may also email their child’s school account.

Thank you for partnering with us to help students stay present and focused.

Dublin City Schools Middle School Dress Code

Goals:

● Maintain a safe learning environment

● Allow students to wear clothing of their choice that is safe and comfortable

● Allow students to wear clothing that expresses their self-identified gender.

● Allow students to wear religious attire without fear of discipline or discrimination.

● Prevent students from wearing clothing with images or language depicting or advocating violence or the use of alcohol or drugs.

● Ensure that students are treated equitably regardless of gender/gender identification, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, body type/size, religion, and personal style.

Dress Code Responsibilities:

● The primary responsibility for a student’s attire adhering to the school dress code resides with the student and parents or guardians.

● The school district and individual schools are responsible for seeing that student attire does not interfere with the health or safety of any student and that student attire does not contribute to a hostile or intimidating atmosphere for any student.

Dress Code Policy:

Students Must Wear ● Shirt ● Bottom: pants / sweatpants / shorts / skirt / dress / leggings ● Shoes

Examples of items Students May Wear ● Religious Headwear ● Hoodie Sweatshirts (with hoods down) ● Fitted pants, including leggings, yoga pants, and “skinny jeans” ● Ripped jeans as long as underwear is not exposed ● Tank Tops ● Shorts (length and fit should be appropriate for school) ● Athletic attire

Items Students Cannot Wear ● Violent language or images ● Images depicting drug alcohol (or any illegal item or activity) or use of the same ● Hate speech, profanity, or sexually explicit images ● Images or language that creates a hostile or intimidating environment based on any protected class. ● Visible Underwear (Visible waistbands or straps on undergarments worn under are not a violation) ● Headgear of any kind that obscures the face, this includes scarves, bandannas, etc.. (except as a religious observance) ● Sunglasses indoors

Dress Code Enforcement:

● Enforcement should be consistent with a school’s overall discipline plan. (Rule 22)

● Violations should be treated as minor on the continuum of school rule violations.

● Best practice would indicate that students do not miss academic instruction for violations that solely have to do with the dress code.

● Best practice would indicate that students are given “school clothing” as a last resort. When possible students should be allowed to use their own jackets, extra clothing, etc.. to resolve dress code issues or call parents to bring in appropriate clothing.

● No student population should be disproportionately affected by dress code enforcement because of gender, race, body size, or body maturity

● These guidelines are not to be considered all-inclusive. Administration reserves the right to deal with any apparel determined to be inappropriate.

Forgotten/Lost Items & Communication

In the event that your child forgets to bring something to school and you need to drop it off (lunch money, homework, books, sports gear etc), you can come to the school and place it on the shelving unit in the entryway. Just mark it with your child’s name and put it on the shelf corresponding to their grade. We will make sure to get the item to the student.

Lost and found at Davis can be found outside of the gymnasium. Items are placed in the bins in the music wing. Students should regularly check those bins if they have misplaced items.

All calls from school will register on caller ID’s as the main school number. The office, staff members, and clinic will always leave messages. Please listen to your voicemail if you receive one prior to calling back so that we know how best to direct your call. Please remind your child to always leave a message when they call home.

No 3rd Party Deliveries

If your student forgets their lunch, or you are bringing them lunch during a school day, you may drop it off on shelves as mentioned above.

Please do not order food delivery (Uber Eats, Door Dash, etc.) for your student as we are not able to accept the deliveries. Please remind your students of this as well.

Spring 2026 8th Grade Washington, DC Trip

Incoming 8th Grade Families,

This is just a reminder that it is time to register your student with Prodigy Travel if they will be joining the Washington, DC trip next May. It is a year away, but we like to give our families plenty of time to plan for the expense of the trip. We have urged students who are interested to work to help with the cost of the trip...it may help them appreciate it that much more! Mowing, mulching or pulling weeds in the summer, raking leaves in the fall, and shoveling snow in the winter in the neighborhood are all good ways to get started.

Here is the link to all of the DC information including the Prodigy website to create an account, register for the trip, and make payments.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Ms. Wilhelm, 8th grade team lead and DC advisor.

Infinite Campus -- Annual Update

ACTION REQUIRED! Time for Annual Updates!

Last week, families should have received an email with instructions to complete the 2025–2026 Annual Update in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. This required process allows parents and guardians to confirm or update important information—including home address, phone numbers, emergency contacts—and to acknowledge district handbooks, student code of conduct, and technology use agreements for the upcoming school year.

Please note: This year, families must complete the Annual Update in order to access key information in the Parent Portal, such as grades, fees, and assessment data.

Helpful Reminders:

  • For best results, complete the Annual Update using a computer or tablet.

  • Address changes require two proofs of residency. A list of accepted documents is available on our Enrollment Required Documentation page.

STEPS
To access the Annual Update, please follow steps 1-7 below.

  1. Log-in to Infinite Campus Parent Portal

  2. Click “More” in the Main Menu or “Annual Update” under district announcements

  3. Select “Online Registration Update”

  4. Click “25-26 (Current School Year) Existing Student Registration.” Please make sure you select Existing Student Registration, not New Student.

  5. Under Action, click “Start”

  6. Click “Begin Registration”

  7. Fill out your back-to-school forms

THINGS TO NOTE

  • For best results, complete the Annual Update from a computer or tablet.
  • A change of address requires two proofs of residency. A list of acceptable residency documents can be found on our Enrollment Required Documentation page.

Thank you for completing this very important back-to-school process. The information gathered as part of the Annual Update supports the efficient operation of our district and is critical regarding our ability to communicate with parents in the event of an emergency.

Log-In to Infinite Campus Parent Portal

If you are having issues accessing Infinite Campus Parent Portal, please reference the tutorials and frequently asked questions on our website. When attempting to log in to your Infinite Campus account you are able to select the "Forgot Password" link. If you continue to have issues logging in to your account or have not yet created an account and need your Activation Key please email Frazee_Laura@dublinschools.net for assistance. Breakfast/Lunch Information

Part of the back to school routine is making sure that your student has a current Pay Schools account for breakfast and lunch. You can also fill out the Free and Reduced Meal Application for your students. Apply online through PaySchools Central or use one of our printable forms (translated in multiple languages) to submit your information.

Meal Prices Add Up! Apply Now for Free/Reduced School Meals

Check a back-to-school box off your list by going ahead and filling out the Free and Reduced Meal Application for your students. Easily apply online through PaySchools Central.

Why apply?

  • It can lower or waive technology fees.

  • It connects families to additional resources and support.

  • It ensures your student gets a healthy meal at school every day.

  • It helps reduce or prevent meal account debt, which carries over from year to year.

Note: Students with negative meal account balances will receive a standard school meal, but they won’t be able to purchase extra (“a la carte”) items.

The Food Services team works closely with school principals to notify families and help manage account balances. Once a student’s meal charges reach $25 or more, you’ll receive automated phone calls as a reminder to add funds. Applying for Free & Reduced Meals is the best way to avoid accumulating a growing balance.

Onyx -- the Davis Support Pup

This year, several times a quarter, we will have the opportunity to have a support dog at Davis. Onyx is owned by counselor, Shanley O'Neil. Onyx is trained and very well behaved. He loves to receive lots of pets and has a knack of helping to calm and soothe when folks are feeling a bit anxious or upset. We are excited to have this opportunity for some of our students at Davis!

When we have a support dog in the building, he will always be on leash and with his handler when not in the main office area.

If you have any questions about the support dog at DMS, please reach out to Jaime (stewart_jaime@dublinschools.net) or Shanley (oneil_shanley@dublinschools.net). If you would like to give your student permission to visit with Onyx when when he is at school, please complete the questions below. You only need to fill this out if you would like your student to have this opportunity. If you do not want your student to interact with Onyx, please do not fill out the form below and we will know not to allow him to interact with your student in the office area. Thank you!

While specific boundary changes will not be presented, leaders will answer pre-submitted questions about the process and next steps. Use this form to submit questions by August 22. The Zoom link will be shared on the district website the morning of the event.
