Yule Ball
- Our fabulous PTO has put together this year's Yule Ball. If you know your student is attending, please RSVP here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1T_r9vvDdHJcswE_-ehpFA8nN0PiAgiQje1-MHeTSG7o/viewform?edit_requested=true
- If you would like to sign up to volunteer to help, please click here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/409054DAFA82AA7FE3-60513523-yule#/
Please note: Students from other schools are not allowed to attend. If a student arrives with someone from another school, parents will be contacted immediately and both students—the enrolled student and the guest—must be picked up.
(Former MVLA students need to contact Mrs. Martos ahead of time if they want to volunteer at the event.)
Did you know about the 100% Family Center?
The District has some wonderful community partners and is working hard to ensure families have an understanding of what resources are out there AND that all families know how to access them. Please check them out! https://www.dacrl.org/100percentfamilycenter
Notes on Wireless Technology
Please note the District's policy on Wireless Communication Devices. These do include Smart Watches, tablets and pretty much any other type of device that can communicate with others. These types of devices will fall under the following guidelines.
How we communicate
The District has adopted the Parent Square App. This application will allow for a much greater ability for two way communication and much more efficient distribution of forms and permission slips. Please look out for an email invitation to download the app if you have not already.
Please review the student handbook below. There are some highlighted sections that have been updated since last year. These changes will also be sent out with a Parent/Student/Teacher Agreement that can be acknowledged through Parent Square.
Drop Off and Pick Up
- As stated above, drop off in the morning starts at 8am and parents can drop their students off at the gate to the courtyard. We will start school at 8:35 in the cafeteria (aka Mission Control).
- Pick up is a bit more complicated with such a small parking lot. We ask that if your student is in 6th grade you come right at 3:35. If they are 7th graders, please wait until 3:45 for pick up and 8th grade parents are asked to wait until 3:50 if at all possible. Congestion does ease once After School programs start, but in the meantime, it will be crowded. Please be patient as we get our kiddos trained to get out to their cars on time.
- We also ask that you not pick up students after 3:20. Please just wait until 3:35. If they need to leave early, please pick them up before 3:15.
Bus Transportation
Transportation has already routed our bus kiddos. If you requested transportation, but have not heard from them, please email me at amartos@lcps.net and let me know. I'll pass on the information to our transportation department. (Please make sure that request was completed in Parent Vue.)

Parent Resources
If you hear about a situation that needs addressing, but would like to report it anonymously, please use our Stop it app. This allows students, parents or any community member to report concerns without the fear of retaliation or embarrassment.
