Five Good Things in Spring
August 17, 2025
New year, new goals, and a very special milestone—Spring ISD is officially 90 years young, and we kicked off the 2025–26 school year in style! 🥳 Campuses were bursting with excited hellos, fresh backpacks, and that unmistakable first-day sparkle. 🎈 It felt like the biggest birthday bash ever, with students, staff, and families all bringing their best energy to start the year strong. Cheers to 90 years of excellence and to making this school year one for the history books! 💚
Sunshine, tassels, and a whole lot of proud smiles! Our Summer Graduation ceremony was pure magic! These determined Spring ISD scholars put in the work, crushed their goals, and crossed the stage with confidence. Every cheer, hug, and happy tear in the crowd was proof that this moment was worth it. Big congrats to our newest alumni—your next chapter starts NOW, and we’re cheering you on every step of the way! 🙌
Big applause for Westfield football player Demarcus Marks, who was recognized as one of Houston’s top student-athletes at the prestigious Houston Touchdown Club banquet! 🙌 Surrounded by family, coaches, administrators, and faculty, Demarcus proudly represented Spring ISD and showed what hard work, talent, and dedication can achieve. Huge thanks to the Houston Touchdown Club for celebrating excellence both on and off the field. We’re proud of you, Demarcus!
The Hirsch Hawks kicked off the school year with a Meet the Teacher Block Party that was nothing short of epic!✂️ Fresh haircuts, giant inflatables, and popcorn galore kept the smiles going while families connected with teachers and friends. The energy was high, the Hawk pride was higher, and it’s clear this flock is ready to soar into an amazing year! 🦅
Spring ISD just made history as the first Texas district to receive the highest-level Active Shooter Preparedness Certification from Region 4! 💪 After a year of intense training, planning, and a full-scale emergency drill, we’ve proven our commitment to keeping 33,000 students and 5,000 staff safe. Huge shoutout to our Board of Trustees and Chief Rodrigue for leading the charge—and we’re not stopping here! Another major drill is coming this October, because in Spring ISD, safety always comes first.
