Mascot of our Project

All the schools designed a project mascot collaborating in Canva. Each class added one part to the mascot (one sleeve or a cap or a brooch), something that symbolized that particular school or region/country. We added a slice of pizza, a typical Italian food. Finally, we created a mascot representing all the schools in the project.

The Role and Sustainability of Heritage

We involve our students to discuss the topic "The role and sustainability of heritage", on Tricider.

What is the role of heritage?

What threatens our heritage?

4th November 2022

Sustainability of local heritages

After discussion about the role and the sustainability of heritage in general, we thought about our local heritage and made some posters.

They are about "The Song of the Sibyl" and "Sardinian Canto a Tenores", Unesco intangible cultural heritages

Bingo Heritage

This bingo served to stimulate the imagination and creativity of students. The claims in the cells should have been somehow connected to the local heritage. The students followed the instructions and created their presentations.

Storytelling for impact

Through project activities, our students learned about the meaning of heritage, discussed the role and sustainability of heritage and applied their knowledge and understanding to local heritage. They presented an example of local heritage through a video and another example through photography. Both activities (video and photography) have been carried out through pairs of group (classes). Pairs presented results of their activity to each other in an online meeting. Our students showed interest and enthusiasm in creating their presentations on two cultural heritage sites: "The Giants of Mont'e Prama" and "Necropolis of Anghelu Ruju".

Storytelling video

Our students learnt about the story of "The Song of the Sibyl" and told it in a video.

The Song of the Sibyl

The Song of the Sibyl is a liturgical drama and a Gregorian chant, the lyrics of which comprise a prophecy describing the Apocalypse. It was declared a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by Unesco on 16 November 2010.The Song of the Sibyl is one of those ancient rites that the Iberians brought with them when they arrived on the Island and which today can be appreciated in Alghero and in a few other places in the world. In fact this paraliturgy in Catalan is currently performed only in our town, Alghero, and in the Balearic Islands.
