Principal's Message

Dear Alta Mesa Families,

Well, we made it to the final week of the 2024-25 school year! I want to take the time to thank the Alta Mesa community for welcoming me this year. I have truly enjoyed being your principal and know that Alta Mesa will continue to do great things with Ms. Crites next year. Here's what's happening this week and some reminders:

  • Monday and Friday are minimum days with everyone getting out at 1:23.
  • 5th Grade Parents mark your calendars for Wednesday, June 4th at 1 for 5th grade Eagle Walk and Awards in the big gym.
  • Field Day and Color Run is on our last day of school, Friday, June 6th! Please note that students will be outside most of the day so make sure they are wearing sunscreen and possibly a hat. The Color Run will start right after lunch and then students will be released for the summer! Booster Club is looking for volunteers for Field Day and the Color Run on Friday, June 6th. If you have any availability to help, please fill out this FORM.
  • Get your Redding Recreation Summer Voucher for the Aquatic Center or a class for your child. Scroll down to find the link to register for this voucher. Valued up to $205
It is going to be a wonderful last week of school! Again, thank you for support! Have a amazing summer break!

HABIT HIGHLIGHT: HABIT 7

This month, we’re focusing on Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw, which is all about taking care of ourselves so we can do our best in school and in life. Students are learning that just like we need to sharpen a saw to keep it working effectively, we need to regularly renew our body, mind, heart, and spirit. Whether it’s getting enough sleep, spending time with family, reading a good book, or being active, these habits help students stay balanced, focused, and ready to learn. We encourage you and your child to try a few activities from our “Self-Renewal Menu” at home—it’s a fun and healthy way to finish the year strong!
