CJHS Charger Connection
October 23, 2026
From the Principal...
Chiddix Students and Families,
We have officially kicked off Quarter 2, and there are a few important updates and celebrations to share:
Learning Lab Rotations & Interventions: Student Learning Labs have rotated for the new quarter. If your student has been placed in an intervention based on our Fall assessment data, a letter has been mailed home to inform your family.
Quarter 1 PBIS Celebration: We are thrilled to celebrate reaching our Quarter 1 goal! Our students earned an amazing 40,000 points for consistently demonstrating what it means to be responsible, respectful, and safe.
Updated Tardy Policy: To protect valuable instructional time and ensure classes start with minimal disruption, we are implementing updated Charger Tardy Protocols:
Supports & Consequences: While we will recognize and reward punctuality with positive recognition and House points, repeated tardies (such as 3+ tardies in a quarter) will lead to interventions, including lunch detentions, In-School Suspension, social probation, or administrative meetings to help keep students on track.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep our students focused, on time, and set up for success in Quarter 2!
Go Chargers! 🧡🖤
Have a great weekend!

PBIS
We need your help!
Students at CJHS use House Points earned in our PBIS Matrix for positive behavior and are able to spend that monthly at our school store. Given that we have almost 700 students in our building and they are deeply invested in this store, it is crucial we keep this store stocked consistently throughout the entire year. Ms. Meszar, our Spirit Coach, will be updating this list constantly throughout the year based on student suggestions, with the most suggested items currently being self care supplies, fidgets, accessories, and stationary. We are looking for items big and small, so if you have anything you would like to donate to our store to sell, please email meszarj@unit5.org. Thanks!

Veteran's Day Assembly - Wednesday, November 11th
Chiddix Junior High School is proud to honor the brave men and women who have served our country. We will host a Veterans Day Assembly on Wednesday, November 11, from 9:00–9:50 AM to recognize and celebrate the service and sacrifices of our veterans.
We warmly invite all veterans and family members who would like to join us for this special celebration. Veterans are invited to enjoy coffee and donuts in the IMC (library) as we come together to show our appreciation for their service.
Arrival Details: Please plan to arrive a little early to allow time to check in at the main office before the assembly begins at 9:00 AM.
We look forward to celebrating with our school community and expressing our gratitude to those who have served our nation. Thank you to all of our veterans for your courage, dedication, and service!
Positive Principal Students
We are proud to recognize our students who received positive principal recognition for demonstrating the character traits that make Chiddix such a special place!
Keep making positive choices, leading by example, and charging forward together! We are proud of you, Chargers!
20 Book Challenge
Quarter 1 has Ended
Attention Students and Families: Have you checked your Infinite Campus account recently? Now is a great time to review your missing assignments and current standards-based grades. Staying up to date ensures that everyone starts the second quarter strong and on track for success! If you notice any questions or need support, please reach out to your teachers so we can help you stay on top of your learning goals. Let’s finish the first quarter strong and step confidently into the next!
Progress Conferences
Progress Conferences are scheduled for Friday, November 6th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is a great opportunity to meet with your student's teachers for a virtual or in person progress conference. We will be using PTC Fast as the online conference scheduler to set up parent-teacher conferences. Parents will be able to sign up using the link below after 3 pm today.
When you click on the link, you will select the conference(s) you would like to attend. You will then be asked your student's name, your name, and you must provide a valid email address. After that, you will receive an email inviting you to sign up for progress conferences. You will then need to click on the link in the email and select the conference(s) and times you would like to attend.
