Hello FamiLEE,

One week left until Spring Break! We are working hard to get ready for the ACT and to see our state report continue to grow. We really need all students to be here every day this week so we can finish the third quarter strong. Please remember that Friday will be a half day so we need all students to be picked up by 1:00pm.

I want to continue to emphasize the importance of all students being here each day and on time. Good attendance is essential for achievement in school and we need your child here as much as possible so that we can move forward as a school community. When your child misses school for any reason, please send excuse notes to LHS.Attendance@hsv-k12.org.

• Attention Students and Parents/Guardians! Please note that students have the opportunity to visit their teachers for help during FamiLEE Time (11:30am-12:15pm) instead of going to clubs every Tuesday through Friday. Please see the attached schedule of teacher office hours and encourage your child to take advantage of this opportunity!

• The Lee High School Soccer teams are selling Little Caesars Pizza Kits to raise money for equipment and other expenses! They are convenient and delicious, perfect to have on hand for busy days. • Lee Seniors, if you ordered graduation invitations or supplies from Jostens, see Mrs. Fields in the library to pick up your package. If you have a balance due, you must show proof of final payment before your package will be released to you.

• Attention, FamiLEE! Auditions for the LHS Auxiliary Team, including the Silver Stars Dance Team, Lady Silks Flag Team, and the Blue Diamonds Majorette Team are coming up March 3-7! See Ms. Trayvick in room 240 with any questions!

• Don't forget to register for your free tree! The March deadline is quickly approaching.

  Interested? Click here to sign up. Even if you don't have a place to plant it, sign up for a tree and our Green Ambassadors will donate and plant it on your behalf! Sign ups are open now through March 15th! Tree saplings may be picked up during our Earth Day celebration.

• Attention Lee High School Students! Any girls interested in playing Volleyball next year should attend the upcoming volleyball workouts!! See Coach Doughty at the attendance office for more information!!!

• Shout-out to all the students and teachers who participated and performed in the Black History Program on Friday!!!
• Congratulations to our Creative Writing Magnet! All six of the regional competitors made it to the state Poetry Out Loud Competition at The Alabama Shakespeare Festival in Montgomery last week. They bravely competed in the original and original social justice recitation categories. Lee High was the largest group from North Alabama to make it to state. Congratulations to Aliyah Potter for winning first place in original and Darianne Ewing for winning second place in original social issues! All the poets have made us proud to call them Familee!
• Shout-out to the choir students from Lee, Jemison, Columbia, Chapman, & AAA who came together for the Inaugural Festival of Spirituals last Thursday! They worked with representatives from Oakwood University and Alabama A&M University all day and then did a beautiful job performing various spirituals for the community.
• Shout-out to the Girls Soccer Team for defeating Jemison 10-0 last week!
• Shout-out to Lee High School Adapted PE Basketball team for a great game against Columbia last Tuesday! Also a shout-out to all the students who bought a ticket to come out and support their classmates!
